Eh, not worth the price but it is pretty!
(Resto recommendations at the end!) Breakfeast isn’t traditional American. It’s missing a lot of selection and quality for the 50$ you pay per person. There are 2 pools, neither of them was clean. Both pools are filled with algae on the walls and floors. One a little worse than the other but they are both slimy! The pool bar doesn’t have a big selection of drinks and you can’t go off menu. The beach is small and off into a like bay so you don’t get any waves just still warm water (if that’s your thing) Not a lot of English, so lots of miscommunication. The dinner food is pretty good but some of the in house restaurants are stupidddddly pricey (teppenyaki for 250$pp). There is a great breakfeast place 10 minute walk (RYUKYU beach club and Paanilani pancake house) and a few ramen and wagyu places that are phenomenal, try those instead!
An Unforgettable Stay Made Special by an Exceptional Team
We had a truly wonderful and memorable stay at the Hyatt Regency Seragaki Island. From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely welcomed and well taken care of by the entire team. A special thank you to B. Princess, who personally welcomed us in the lobby and accompanied us to the Club Lounge for check-in. Along the way, she kindly introduced us to the hotel’s facilities, including the restaurant and the Market on the first floor. Her warm hospitality and thoughtful introduction immediately made us feel comfortable and welcomed When we arrived at the Club Lounge, Assistant Manager Ishii was incredibly efficient and helpful. She quickly completed our check-in so that we made it to our 5:00 PM dinner reservation on time. We truly appreciated her prompt and attentive service. At Shirakachi Japanese Cuisine, Ms. Kao provided excellent service and was incredibly friendly and helpful. She not only took great care of us during our meal but also gave us helpful information about the area around the hotel, which made our stay even more enjoyable. On our second evening, we had dinner at Shirakachi Teppanyaki. The chef’s skill, dedication, and attention to detail made the meal a wonderful experience. One of the most memorable moments was being able to briefly step outside during dinner to enjoy one of the most beautiful sunsets I have ever seen. It was truly magical. I would like to sincerely thank everyone on the Hyatt Regency Seragaki Island team for making our stay so special. Their warmth, professionalism, and genuine hospitality made my mother and me feel incredibly cared. Thank you for giving us such a beautiful and unforgettable vacation. We will cherish the memories we made here and look forward to returning again.
Wonderful hotel stay
Excellent service friendly staff rooms were beautiful front desk staff very knowledgeable and helpful housekeeping was so prompt and kind
Beautiful hotel but even made better with amazing staff.
Amazing location, beautiful view from every angle. It's not close to Naha the major city in Okinawa but honestly the hour drive is worth it. Everyone at the hotel are amazing, the hotel/resort is beautiful and there were really nothing to complain about this hotel at all. We will definitely come back to Okinawa and stay here.
Great hotel in a great location
The location and beach area is beautiful. The room I was in was outdated although the bathrooms were great. The ocean view was a plus.
Good stay on a private island, but keep an eye on extra costs
We stayed here as a family of three with a 9-year-old child. The hotel’s main advantage is its location. It sits on a private little island connected to the mainland by a short bridge. The views are nice, and there is a good infinity pool and a sheltered saltwater lagoon, which is safe for kids to swim in.Our booking only included breakfasts, and we really liked them — the food quality was high with a good variety of choices. We didn't try the other on-site restaurants for lunch or dinner because they are quite expensive for a family. Instead, we just walked 5–10 minutes across the bridge to Route 58 on the mainland. There are great, budget-friendly local spots there, which we highly recommend. The hotel facilities are modern. We used the 24-hour self-service laundry on the first floor. It is completely cashless (you scan a QR code and pay by credit card), and you can check if the machines are free on your room’s TV screen. It uses eco-friendly ionized water, so you don't even need to buy laundry detergent. For getting around, the local Green Ride electric bikes parked nearby only fit adults (height 150cm+), so they didn't work for our child. However, the location is convenient for public transport. You can walk to the Seragaki Beach-mae bus stop on the mainland and take bus #120 straight down the coast to the Ryukyu Mura cultural village or the American Village.Overall, it is a solid 5-star hotel, but you need to leave the resort property if you want to keep your trip budget-friendly.
Disappointing Stay Due to Cleanliness and Unfair Resort Fee
We were disappointed with our stay. Our room was not clean upon arrival. The bed had visible stains, and the bathroom had mold and a strong musty odor, which made the room feel unsanitary. We were also frustrated that we were charged a resort fee even though, due to the weather, none of the resort amenities were available to use. Charging guests for facilities they cannot access is unfair.
3 stars
The property itself is beautiful and the setting on Seragaki Island is stunning. The rooms were comfortable, the grounds were well maintained, and the views were excellent. There is no question that the hotel is visually impressive. Unfortunately, the guest experience did not match the quality of the property. Throughout our stay, it often felt like staff were constantly watching guests and looking for opportunities to correct behavior rather than focusing on hospitality. Several interactions left us feeling more policed than welcomed. Whether it was small rules, minor issues, or things that could have been handled more casually, staff seemed quick to step in and correct us. Instead of feeling relaxed on vacation, we often felt like we were being monitored. Another major frustration was the hotel’s lack of clarity regarding its child age policy. We were surprised to be charged an additional fee of approximately $600 because our 13-year-old daughter was considered an adult. This was not made sufficiently clear during the booking process, and the unexpected charge left a very negative impression. Many hotels consider children of that age differently, so clearer communication upfront would help guests avoid unpleasant surprises at check-in. While the property itself is gorgeous, the combination of excessive rule enforcement and unexpected fees significantly detracted from our stay. We left feeling that guest comfort and hospitality were secondary to policy enforcement. For the price point, we expected a more welcoming and transparent experience.
Never go there again
Room was beautiful but hours of operation SUCKS. Nothing is available until late. Food was bot very good for the price you’re paying. You couldn’t even rent an electric bike until after 9:00AM and you donut through an app
Unacceptable rules and regulations
Way too many rules and regulations. No good food by the pool. Smoking forbidden on private balcony. This is not firendly and not acceptable
Will be back
Highly recommend for relaxing and vacation. Services, food, room hygiene meet all we needs. Particularly, the hotel offers both face soap and body soap! It's convenient to choose either soaps or liquid body wash. So touching!
Okinawa paradise in Onna
The interior architecture, infinity pools, rooms and facilities are attractive and built with a very high attention to detail. All the staff were very attentive, helpful and friendly. The food at the restaurants were some of the best food that we have eaten anywhere in the world. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend anyone to stay at this beautiful resort located on a stunning beachfront.
A Must Visit Location
An excellent location with a beautiful facility. From check in to departure the staff could have not delivered a better experience. Definitely a mist visit location.
Quality facility and exceptional staff!
A hidden gem! We throughly enjoyed our week! All staff were solicitous and kind. Valet for rental car was a good choice. Our room was more than comfortable, with flips to wear, kimonos, tea and coffee available. There was plenty of room for clothing and suitcases. The shower and bath area were exceptional.
The worst Hyatt I have ever stayed
THe worst Hyatt I have ever stayed , it reminded me of a school dormitory, line for chek-i, line for check out, line for breakfast, line for the bar, worse yet at the bar, you have to order, then go to pick, and the return all with big signs on top of the bar, this hotel has no standard
Stay away.
In general, the hotel staff is very, very inexperienced, and as a result the resort is not up to par with international hotel / resort standards. At best, this is frustrating and at worst, it is incredibly dangerous. Our first full day at the resort, we informed the poolside bar staff of a shrimp allergy before ordering our dishes for lunch. The staff asked about the severity of the allergy (cross-contamination, etc), so we thought they fully understood the situation. To our surprise, one of the dishes showed up with chunks of shrimp. By sheer luck, we spotted it before starting to eat. As a family that suffers from food allergies, this kind of lapse is terrifying. Other issues were less severe, but over the course of a week, they added up and led to our overall bad experience. For example, we booked a private car for hire from the hotel for three days and requested a car seat. Even after multiple confirmations, on one of those days, the car showed up without a car seat (the car service says no seat was requested by the hotel). The bar staff served us wine from a bottle where the wine had been replaced with water, and kept insisting it was fine until we asked for a glass from a new bottle - which had a completely different color and smell and taste than the watery glass. The difference was so significant that it was actually surprising how anyone (let alone bar staff) could think the first glass was wine. Room service forgot to bring part of our order on one night. The Serale restaurant did not inform us that part of our child’s meal was no longer available and waited until we asked about it to let us know we needed to order something else. Serale also routinely forgot to provide child utensils and flatware, despite being asked, and does not have enough high chairs to accommodate its child guests (despite being billed as a family friendly resort). I could go on and on. Finally, we tried to discuss these issues with the hotel halfway through our stay and our email was ignored for days, and only after the car seat issue did someone from management try to speak with us. After checkout, another member of management sat down to further discuss these issues and after we departed the resort, we received an email from F&B apologising for the allergy incident. But these efforts all feel like it’s too little too late, and we ended up feeling like no one cared about the quality of our stay despite forking over thousands of USD to stay in one of the bigger suites in the resort and spending more than that on dining at the resort (as there’s not much in the area). In summary, I would stay away and choose another option. We are still quite upset about the amount of money we paid for what turned out to be a week of stress and anxiety.
Early Spring Vacation
Great resort for families and little ones. All activities are conveniently provided in the hotel, plenty of swimming pools, and although beach is small, it is very clean and calm, perfect environment for families. The Serale restaurant was top notch.
Happy and Heartwarming Hyatt
Beautiful hotel and environment. The amenities in the room were top notch as well! Enjoyed using all the products and everything was provided from robes to slippers to bathroom essentials. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was delicious and had a good variety. One could have a sample of the local cuisine and the usual breakfast dishes as well. The menu did change a bit on the two days we ate there which was great. The facilities look wonderful although we did not get a chance to use the pool or the beach as they were not open yet. There are restaurants and Konbini not too far away so location is great. Will stay here if I have the chance to come again!
Great Stay!
Excellent staff, very nice facility, would come again, good location, family came to visit us, the pool was very good, view was excellent
Will be back
Room is comfy, clean with beautiful view. Both dinner and breakfast are at good levels. Worth staying for couple of days.
