To create experiences that can only be found at Hyatt Hakone, we continue to discover the unique character of our region and grow together with the local community. As we celebrate our 20th anniversary, we are pleased to introduce a series of initiatives that reflect our commitment to the future. Follow our official Instagram account for updates and stories from these activities as they unfold.

At Hyatt Regency Hakone Resort and Spa, we recommend “Kaze no Michi”, a refreshing junmai ginjo crafted by Seto Shuzo in Kaisei, Kanagawa, for its elegant harmony with French cuisine. Brewed using flower yeast derived from hydrangeas, the official flower of Kaisei, the sake reflects the gentle breezes that sweep across the rice fields surrounding the brewery. In celebration of our 20th anniversary, we deepened this special connection by taking part in the sake-making journey ourselves, from planting the sake rice to harvesting the crop. The resulting sake will be presented in a special commemorative bottle, offering guests a unique expression of local terroir to enjoy alongside French cuisine, enriched by the story of its creation.

Working together with local woodcraft company La Luz Inc. and the Odawara-shi Forestry Association, we have participated in tree planting and forest management activities to deepen our understanding of the region’s forests and the importance of caring for them. Inspired by these experiences, we have launched new initiatives to make meaningful use of underutilized timber and other forest resources. Through these efforts, we hope to preserve the warmth and comfort of a stay surrounded by natural wood for generations to come.

In collaboration with “Art de Vivre”, a welfare organization based in Odawara that supports artists with disabilities, we have created exclusive 20th Anniversary Hyatt Hakone tenugui hand towels. These special items are available at Gallery IZUMI.

To commemorate this collaboration, Gallery IZUMI will also showcase a selection of works by the participating artists, available for both viewing and purchase. We invite you to discover their unique creativity and inspiring artistic perspectives.
