Notice of additional associate testing positive for COVID-19
January 14, 2022

Update, January 14, 2022

Today we were informed that in addition to the announcement dated January 10, 2022, one additional associate has unfortunately PCR tested positive for COVID-19.

The concerned associate had been fully and twice vaccinated and had been taking all preventative measures including wearing a facemask and regularly using the appropriate disinfectants on hotel premises. His last day on duty at Deli in an isolated capacity was January 13, 2022. A preventive Antigen test on January 13 had been negative, but he tested PCR positive today.

The associate is currently undergoing isolation and his health and wellbeing are closely monitored. We are ensuring that every assistance and support is provided. We are in close coordination with the local Healthcare Center, and have traced colleagues who had contact with the confirmed case. All identified ‘close contact’ colleagues are in self-quarantine and will take a PCR test as per the guidelines of the health authorities to ensure safety. In line with the instructions from the local Healthcare Center, we are conducting deep cleaning and disinfection of concerned areas on resort and hotel premises.

Park Hyatt Niseko Hanazono is committed to caring for our guests and colleagues and upholding the highest standards of cleanliness. The hotel has had in place a full vaccination program for our associates as well as all appropriate measures in response to COVID-19. These measures include mandatory daily temperature checks for all incoming guests, colleagues and contractors. Frequently touched areas such as public washrooms, elevator panels, escalator handrails, lobby door handles, guestroom doorknobs are sterilized on a regular basis, and multiple hand sanitizer stations have been placed at public areas throughout the hotel. All our colleagues are regularly tested, and have been taking preventative measures such as always wearing a facemask as well as regularly using the appropriate disinfectants on hotel premises.

We express our sincere apologies for the concern and any inconvenience we may have caused to our guests and related parties due to this incident. We remain vigilant in monitoring for symptoms among colleagues and guests, and follow guidelines and protocols recommended by international and local authorities, in an effort to ensure our guests and colleagues remain in a healthy and safe environment.

Niseko Hanazono Resort's Winter season to open on December 4, 2021, showcasing new world-class facilities and experiences.
October 13, 2021

A new chapter in Japan’s ski universe is about to start. The long awaited new Hanazono Lift 1 (6-seat heated leather chairlift) and the new Hanazono Symphony Gondola (capacity of 10 persons), both showcasing the very latest in luxury design and technology and made by French firm POMA, will be finally unveiled on December 4, 2021. In addition, the resort will also introduce night skiing and new ski courses, including a new beginner run.

The new ski lifts have been specifically designed to complement the glamorous look of the Hanazono EDGE, Hanazono Resort and Park Hyatt Niseko area. A so-called POMA direct drive system, the first of its kind in Japan, will launch a new era of environmental responsibility to our resort operations, with reduced levels of noise and improved energy efficiency. The new ski lifts do also represent a huge leap forward in terms of comfort, speed and convenience for Hanazono guests, who currently already flock to the area because of its hospitality, quality powder snow, mountainous terrain and superior facilities.
