Beautiful hotel
A beautiful hotel located right on Kaanapali beach - snorkel from the hotel. Or walk down the beach and enjoy shopping and great restaurants. Don't want to walk - there's a trolley right there, too. Rooms were clean and quiet and a great value for such a great location. Breakfast buffet had plenty to choose from and the coffee store had many choices - and it's not Starbucks (luckily). Valet always had the car to us within minutes and everyone was really friendly.
Perfect!
What am amazing experience! The ocean view is breathtaking and watching the sunset was a great way to end each day! Staff was friendly, professional, and prompt. Many restaurants and stores to choose from and a short (free) trolley ride or stroll to a nearby mall area. Perfect!
Great 50th Anniversary experience.
An exceptional 14 days for our 50th Wedding Anniversary. The resort personnel were very accommodating and helpful. We enjoyed everyday even when the weather didn't cooperate.
A Fantastic Family Trip
We came here for a family fall break with our grandkids and some of our adult children. There was something here for everyone. Our grandchildren were able to take advantage of many of the hotel's cultural activities, and we all loved the wildlife, pools, and incredible views. There is fantastic snorkeling from the beach just to the left of the hotel when you are facing the ocean. The valet parking service was severely understaffed, so I would recommend self-parking. We will definitely be back.
Wonderful resort!
We stayed last week with our daughters and loved it. The grounds are beautiful. The birds they have in cages are so fun if you interact with them. The penguins were really interesting to watch and learn about. Our kids loved the slides, There isn't much beach with all the storms that have hit that area so we walked further down towards black rock. We swam with turtles, saw many fish down by black rock and overall it was a wonderful stay. We had a Guest of Honor applied and were upgraded to a room with an ocean view which was fantastic!
Great hotel!
Such a great hotel for our honeymoon! We were upgraded upon checking in because they knew it was our honeymoon - which was so appriciated but above that, this hotel was amazing. Despite being 50 years old it felt updated, clean, spacious, with plenty of things to do. The four pools really allowed everyone to spread out and not be on top of each other. They were clean for the most part (it was windy causing some debris) and the pool temp was perfect! Food and drinks are spendy but that is just Maui, not specific to the hotel. We shopped and ate at most of the connivence shops and resturaunts on site and were not disappointed. Overall I would absolutely come back to this hotel!
Fun Fall Break!
Amazing time at the Hyatt Regency Maui last week for fall break. My son (7) had a great time at the pools and enjoyed the luau, and especially loved being right on the beach. We enjoyed that it was walkable (for us) to Whaler's Village and Block Rock (longer walk but the trolley is also great! The staff was so kind, from the front desk, to the bartenders and other restaurant staff, and the Regency Club hosts. I wish I had remembered to get everyone's names! The wildlife tour was also cool - the guide was wonderful and we enjoyed meeting and learning about all the birds on site. We can't wait to come back!
Happy in Hawaii
We had a wonderful experience here! The location is excellent, rooms were impressive, bed was COMFY, and pools were very nice.
Bucket List Fulfilled - Grateful Beyond Words
Amazing Amazing Amazing!!! You have to go. Yo Suti and his golf pro shop was awesome!! The Food!!!!!!!! The Drinks!!!!!!! The people!!!!! 1000/1000
Underwhelmed
Not great location in Maui because the area is still growing back from the fires. The rooms are dated. Lake of towels and wash clothes
Beautiful
Beautiful and clean resort. Helpful staff and beautifully kept garden and pools. Located close to amazing beaches. Definitely recommend staying here.
Perfect for young families
This location was so nice for a family vacation. We're a family of 4, with 2 boys 8 years old and it had everything we needed. The overall hotel and rooms were very clean with a great atmosphere. With everything open, you always felt the outside air and had a view of the ocean. Food amenities were a good range of options. Being so close to Whaler's Village was a plus for additional options. We didn't rent a car from the airport, so the hotel having a Hertz on location was perfect for us to rent a car for the day. The on-site Luau was so fun and convenient being on the hotel grounds. Walkability was overall great - however some of the sidewalks were under construction due to the beach erosion, but overall it was a nice path up all the hotels. The one less-positive review I have is the kids pool area. It was tailored to younger kids, so we felt it was a bit small for our 8 year old boys. A hotel with more young-adult/adult friendly water slides would have been great.
Amazing family trip in Maui.
I loved my time at the Hyatt. The front desk staff, and Connor made our experience incredible. We loved our room with the ocean view. There was always a lovely breeze in the hotel. The pool was amazing. My kids also loved the kid pool and waterslides. The pina colada was among the best I've ever had.
Terrible pool downgrade
The replacement of their iconic pool was an extraordinary disappointment. I’m shocked you they install something that conflicts so strongly with the ethos of this amazing property. This change is akin to replacing their amazing Swan court restaurant with an Applebees. While I imagine there were many factors and it was a hard decision, I strongly feel they made the wrong one. They went from the best pool in the island to one of the worst.
First Hawaiian experience
Beautiful facilities and great staff . We had a lovely time. This was our first stop in Hawaii. The area was beautiful despite the fire rebuilding.
Bad vacation
We were there during power outage and local fires — hotel did a terrible job communicating with us — and the resort didn’t even have hot water — and only had a limited option of food —
Hotel managers should receive more training. No back up generators available at this hotel!
After suffering a power outage for 36 hours, we had no hot water, no pool (water filtration system was down, VERY poor service from Hotel managers, we fully regret our stay at Hyatt Regency here at Maui. Rooms were expensive so we expected good service. There was no reimbursement of any kind for our experience. The managers showed no empathy. For people considering this hotel, please do know that there are no backup generators for essential services so reconsider if hot water and poolside amenities are important to you. The rooms were fairly clean, though.
Will Definitely Stay Again
Great experience. Friendly staff and very clean hotel. They have everything you need. The friendliness and helpfulness continues until the very last second of your stay.

Beautiful facility. Gorgeous views.
Great views. Breakfast buffet is amazing. Rooms are very nice. Is it expensive? Yes, it is. Don't go there looking for a bargain. Usual issue with pool lounges. Saving spots early with towels and then nobody there for several hours.

Family vacation
Hotel met my expectations. The room had a beautiful view. My grandkids loved the pools. The only thing I didn't like was having to pay $50 a day for parking.
