At Grand Hyatt Macau, we actively manage our environmental impact through daily energy‑saving practices, including switching off lights in unused areas, installing motion sensors in all linen rooms, and using a heat exchanger system to recycle cooling water from dry‑cleaning machines, contributing to ongoing energy and water savings.

We implemented food waste management systems to empower our kitchens with actionable insights that reduce waste, minimize costs, and environmental footprint. By leveraging these insights, we refined menus by removing low-demand items, optimized portioning and par levels, introduced cook-to-order practices, and resized banquet desserts to better match actual consumption.
Single-use plastics have been replaced with reusable alternatives, and recycling bins are available throughout guest areas to encourage waste separation.
An in-room digital service compendium, accessible via QR codes, provides guests with news, menus, hotel information, and local guides, significantly reducing the need for printed materials.

We prioritize responsible sourcing by choosing certified sustainable products, strong animal welfare standards, using environmentally responsible chemicals, and sourcing locally where possible. Across our food and beverage venues, we serve 100% cage-free eggs, reinforcing our commitment to more responsible supply chains.

Located just a 15–20 minute walk from Grand Hyatt Macau, the Popular Science Zone of the Wetlands in Avenida da Praia offers a tranquil escape in Taipa. This ecological site features wetland trails and birdhouses for nature observation while preserving the habitat.
For a deeper cultural experience, wander through the preserved streets and restored heritage homes of Taipa Village and visit the Taipa Houses–Museum. Alternatively, venture further to the historic Ruins of St. Paul’s—an iconic stone façade of the former Church of Mater Dei, built in the early 17th century. Nearby, Senado Square, Macau’s long-standing civic heart framed by neo-classical architecture, remains a vibrant gathering place that reflects the city’s rich cultural heritage.
