Hyatt Regency Vancouver is committed to environmental sustainability and has been awarded five keys by the HAC Green Key Program. We strive to be environmentally conscious, focusing on reducing carbon emissions, energy and water conservation, waste management, and recycling. We track and monitor our sustainability efforts through the Hyatt EcoTrack program. Our dedication to sustainability guides our operations and aims to connect with our guests.
Climate Change and Water Conservation
- High-efficiency LED lighting is used throughout the hotel.
- Sensors are used in guestrooms to manage lighting and temperature.
- Guestroom water fixtures are low-flow.
Waste and Circularity
- The Hydration Stations in the lobby and designated floors support guests to refill their water bottles, reducing waste associated with single-use water bottles. Hydration stations also replace single-use water bottles in meetings and events.
- Plastic straws are not used. Instead, paper alternatives are offered upon request.
- Our digital Planner Portal reduces printed materials, and the World of Hyatt app offers a digital key option to reduce plastic keycard use.
- Refillable large format amenity dispensers are used in guestroom bathrooms to reduce plastic waste.
- Our kitchen utilizes a food digester to reduce food waste going to landfill.
Our Food Philosophy
- We prioritize locally sourced ingredients for our restaurant, including responsibly sourced seafood, cage-free eggs, grass-fed beef, and fair-trade coffee beans.
- Our plant-forward options cater to different dietary preferences.
- Leftover and untouched food is donated to a local hunger eliminating non-profit organization.
