Kicking off on November 27, 2022, is our first-ever Hyatt’s Spirit of Giving on 700 Centre Street — an initiative that invites our patrons, guests and the local community to give joy and fulfill wishes by means of charitable donations to foundations that uplift all kinds of spirits... both humankind and animal-kind.
Running for five weeks, a week will be dedicated to accepting donations on behalf of each partner organization. Any donations made even after the foundation’s spotlight week will still be accommodated. The drop-off desk is located in the hotel’s lobby right beside the Front Desk. Donations can be personally handed or dropped off curbside to a Hyatt colleague.
As a gesture of appreciation, people donating will be offered the opportunity to participate in a weekly raffle draw. we will be gifting one lucky winner a Sunday Brunch Buffet gift voucher each week throughout the run of the donation drive.
We hope that Hyatt’s Spirit of Giving will foster relationships within the local community even beyond the holiday season.

Hyatt Regency Calgary is taking Hyatt Loves Local to the next level by participating in an ongoing collaboration with Calgary Community Fridge, a project that provides fresh groceries on a “give what you can, take what you need” basis.
This summer of 2021, the hotel will be growing and harvesting its own vegetables and greens on its rooftop garden to be donated to the community fridge. Hyatt Regency Calgary will then identify a special group of Harvest Gatherers composed of locally-based World of Hyatt members including local food bloggers, meeting planners and corporate partners. This group will be invited to the hotel when it’s time to harvest the produce and will also be involved in safely packaging the items that will be donated to the Calgary Community Fridge. The Harvest Gatherers will be briefed on food safety and wear protective gear prior to harvesting. The number of invited volunteers will be based on the group gathering restrictions implemented by the local government at the time.
In terms of dropping off the packaged produce, this will be executed by the hotel’s executive sous chef and/or a member of the Leadership Committee.
The first harvest is expected in June 2021 and will last until early Fall, which marks the end of the growing season in Calgary. This commitment will continue on a yearly basis from then on.

Thomsons at Hyatt Regency Calgary has reopened after completing its contemporary transformation. Formerly called Sandstone Lounge, the new Thomsons Kitchen & Bar offers Canadian cookery presented in a contemporary manner. The menu is focused on shared plates that are ingredient driven with sections dedicated to innovative yet comforting vegetable-forward cuisines and hearty mains. It has been redefined as a mixed-use destination for casual dining, after-work drinks and celebrations.
Despite its redesign, the award-winning outlet retained its original sandstone walls and brick archways from the 1890s showcasing the history and tradition of Alberta. The renewed and modernized Thomsons currently offers three incomparable food and beverage experiences: an innovative restaurant with an exciting menu offering Canadian dishes prepared in a modern way; a bold and stylish bar serving a well-thought of selection of wines, beers and specialty cocktails; and a Social Hub dedicated to hosting weddings, corporate parties and private events.
