Hyatt Regency Sydney’s sustainability committee brings colleagues from across the hotel together to support sustainability efforts in their departments. The hotel uses Hyatt EcoTrack to record and monitor energy, water, waste and recycling data. This information helps the team identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and track performance over time.
Hyatt Regency Sydney holds the Benchmarked Bronze accreditation from EarthCheck. The certification recognises the hotel’s sustainability performance against EarthCheck’s requirements. Team efforts include monitoring resource use and waste, alongside engagement with the local community.

We have implemented initiatives to operate our building efficiently to reduce energy and water consumption across the hotel.
Daily monitoring ensures heating and cooling are used only where and when needed.
Occupancy-based controls minimise energy use in guest rooms and meeting spaces. Kitchen equipment is operated only when required, with energy-efficient appliances prioritised wherever possible.

Hyatt Regency Sydney is committed to reducing waste through innovative solutions.
Through partnerships with Reground, Riverina Fresh and EcoFry, we divert coffee grounds, recycle milk packaging, and repurpose cooking oil into biodiesel.
Across the hotel, we minimise single-use plastics with bamboo straws on request, large-format amenities, recyclable minibar packaging, QR code menus, hydration stations and mobile key entry.

Hyatt’s Philosophy of ‘Food. Thoughtfully Sourced. Carefully Served.’ guides us in how we select ingredients that are better for people, communities and the planet.
We partner with Greenspace and installed two micro-farms in the hotel, providing locally grown, fresh produce. Dishes are designed to celebrate fresh and seasonal harvests and support local businesses.

Hyatt Regency Sydney is located in Sydney’s Central Business District, in walking distance of Darling Harbour and some of Australia’s best attractions.
