100% Renewable Energy
Hyatt Regency SF Downtown SOMA has an active engagement in PG&E's Supergreen program, demonstrating our steadfast commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship. As part of this initiative, we proudly utilize 100% renewable energy within our building, underscoring our dedication to reducing carbon emissions and promoting renewable resources. Road to a Plastic Free Property
Our Hyatt Regency San Francisco Downtown SOMA team is deeply committed to sustainability and reducing our environmental impact, which is why we've taken significant steps to become a plastic-free establishment. Below are some of the major steps we have made to become Plastic-Free, earning us a prestigious Green Key certification:
- We proudly offer water bottles to our guests, eliminating the need for single-use plastic bottles.
- Plastic straws have been completely phased out, with eco-friendly alternatives now in use.
- We've reduced single-use amenities by implementing refillable dispensers and bulk options.
- Embracing technology, we've introduced mobile keys to minimize plastic guestroom key card usage.
- In our dining outlets, we exclusively use eco-friendly to-go containers, extending our commitment to sustainability beyond guest rooms.

- Increased Energy Efficiency by added Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) to all high energy commercial equipment within the building

- Scheduling heating and cooling needs based off the hotel demands.
- Motion-Sensored lighting throughout the property
- Refillable Aluminum bottled water provided with refill stations available throughout the property

Community Outreach and Responsible Sourcing
