I couldn’t get my bill, and staff don’t know their own services.

Service was the weak point. I asked the front desk about charging my electric car, and they told me the hotel doesn’t offer that. It does. It shouldn’t be up to the guest to know the hotel’s services better than the staff. The bigger problem came after checkout. I’ve called the billing department several times and no one ever answers. The front desk just transfers me back to billing, where the line rings out again. For a business traveler who needs an itemized invoice to get reimbursed, this is a real problem. It shouldn’t take this much effort to get a copy of your own bill.

Dear Howie, Thank you for sharing your feedback. We apologize for the frustration you experienced with our team’s communication regarding electric vehicle charging and, especially, the difficulty obtaining your itemized invoice after checkout. We understand how important timely billing documentation is for business travelers and regret that you had to make multiple attempts without receiving the assistance you needed. This is not the level of service we strive to provide. Your comments regarding staff knowledge and the challenges reaching our billing department are important, and we will share them with the appropriate teams to help improve communication and follow-up. We apologize again for the inconvenience and appreciate you bringing these concerns to our attention. Kind regards, Hyatt Regency San Francisco Downtown SOMA

Good location, horrible maintenance. Don't recommend.

Good location ~ close to various food options. However, the elevator issue gave me a bad experience. Elevators frequently overcapacity with people filled to the doors. Wait time for an elevator was over 6 minutes on multiple occasions. Then, when elevators arrived, they were too full to enter. 3 elevators passed (~16 minutes total wait) before I could squeeze into one. You can't take the stairs because the only exit door in the building is a fire alarm door that goes off if you open it. Terrible and stressful experience. I wouldn't recommend anyone stay here if this is standard practice. Due to poor maintenance, we were all inconvenienced during our stay. Don't stay here without understanding you will be late for your meetings, ride share, or appointments.

Hello Sightsee, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. I am truly sorry for the frustration and inconvenience you experienced with our elevators during your stay. I completely understand how stressful it must have been to experience such lengthy wait times, especially when trying to get to meetings on time. Unfortunately, one of our elevators required a significant repair, which impacted service throughout the hotel. Please know that we recognized the inconvenience this caused our guests, and our team worked around the clock with our service partners to complete the necessary repairs as quickly as possible. I am pleased to share that the elevator is now fully operational. We sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding during this challenging situation. This is certainly not the experience we want for our guests, and I hope you will consider giving us another opportunity to provide the seamless and enjoyable stay you deserve. Kind regards, Michael Baier, Managing Director

    Great downtown SF hotel!

This was my second time staying at this hotel and I think its a great choice for staying in the downtown area of SF. The hotel is in excellent condition with great rooms, a fantastic lobby and bar, and one of the best fitness rooms I have used in a hotel (it's fantastic). Staff are professional and always very warm and helpful. This will continue to be my go-to hotel while staying in SF

    Thoughtful and upscale

All in our party (2 adults and one 17 year old) were impressed with the hotel.. 'fancy' was the comment. Everything we could want was presented within the first few minutes of us entering the hotel... check in, mini market, bar, gathering area, restrooms and the area to keep our luggage for a time after check out. The room was immaculate, as expected. We were in town for the weekend for baseball game and sightseeing. Go Dodgers!

    Pleasant stay near Union Sq.

Location is perfect for a central downtown experience. Atmosphere is pleasing. Rooms are adequate. Good value. Cleanliness is up to the mark. Not noisy. Service is excellent. Amenities are skeletal. Regency Club needs a facelift and need to be better stocked.

    Meh

King rooms are small & substandard, only 2 drawers in the whole room and none in the bathroom. Large table has sharp corners and is dangerous. At 12 inches off the floor, the soap dish is ridiculous.

$900 per night; stinking toilet; carpet with stains

Toilet does not have an exhaust. Air Conditioner made loud noises throughout the night. My room was 4 rooms away from the Elevator, yet I was constantly disturbed by high speed elevators going up & down. Carpet had stains. Sofa/Couch was dirty. Breakfast was not included for a rate of ~$900 per night.

    Overall the hotel is good

Stayed here for Pokémon Worlds/ XP 2026. Everything was good until Sunday evening, when the room key card would not work and manager Peter was yelling and becoming elevated accusing me of not paying for Sunday night's stay and implying that we were not going to pay (Reservation was paid in full via American Airlines) and that we did not have money to pay for it since apparently the credit card on-file declined, however I stopped by earlier in the day to resolve the issue with Daisy at the front desk and she updated the CC and assured me I had a zero balance. Peter disputed this claim and asked for "proof" which was on a printout (guess where? in the room) Peter then decided he was leaving and left a pile of crap for Luis to address. Luis checked and stated that the balance is paid in full and parking is all paid for, however all that was needed was a CC to be on file for incidentals for Sunday night and noted that earlier in the day the balance was paid, however the CC was not added onto the account and that's all that was needed. Jacob at the front desk on Sunday evening even noted that Peter was being rude towards me and was even giving attitude towards him. It was extremely unfortunate that Peter is not equipped customer service/ customer experience skills. I did ask several members of staff on Monday morning who all stated, "Yes Peter is rude" Overall the hotel is nice, the rooms are clean, everything works, the food was good, the water pressure is good, and the AC made the room comfortable.

Hello Bryan, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I am pleased to hear that you otherwise enjoyed your stay with us during Pokémon Worlds and found your room comfortable, our hotel well maintained, and your overall experience positive. That said, I am very sorry for the frustration you experienced on Sunday evening. Particularly knowing that you had proactively stopped by the Front Desk earlier in the day to address your account, I can understand how frustrating it must have been to later find that your room keys were not working and to have to revisit the matter. While we do require a valid credit card authorization for incidentals, we also have a responsibility to communicate those requirements clearly and ensure that issues brought to our attention are fully resolved. Just as importantly, every interaction with our team should be handled professionally and respectfully, even when circumstances become challenging. I am personally reviewing the details of your experience with our leadership team so that we can understand where the breakdown occurred and address the concerns you have raised. Thank you as well for recognizing the many positive aspects of your stay. I am disappointed that this interaction detracted from an otherwise enjoyable visit, and I hope we have the opportunity to welcome you back and provide the consistently positive experience you should expect from us. Kind regards, Michael Baier, Managing Director

    Great Stay

We were in the city for only one night, and the Hyatt Regency SoMa was perfect for us. Digital check-in worked like a charm--we didn't have to go to the front desk at all. Our room was on the 18th floor with a nice view of the city; it was clean, quiet, and comfortable. The hotel's location is close to Yerba Buena Gardens, shopping, and a wide range of food options. We loved that we could walk to dinner rather than move the car and deal with traffic. We parked at the garage across from the hotel; it was half the cost of the hotel's valet parking, which was a good deal for us since we didn't need in-and-out privileges on this trip.
