I have been a frequent Hyatt guest since around 2010 and have probably stayed more than 500 nights with Hyatt over the years. I had not traveled much since the pandemic, so I was genuinely looking forward to staying with Hyatt again. Unfortunately, this stay at Hyatt Centric Hong Kong was extremely disappointing and made me feel that Hyatt is no longer the brand I remember. I booked a King Bed Harbour View room. When I checked in, the front desk told me that my room was not ready. I was then given two options: either accept two single beds pushed together, or pay an additional HKD 400 to move to a higher-floor room with a king bed. I found this very difficult to understand. I had already booked and paid for a king-bed room. If the hotel was unable to provide the room type I reserved, shouldn’t the upgrade have been offered complimentary rather than asking the guest to pay another HKD 400? In the end, I reluctantly paid the extra amount because I did not want two single beds pushed together. Another frustrating issue was the deposit policy. Because I had not traveled or stayed in hotels for quite some time, I had forgotten to bring a credit card with me. I was told that, in addition to the room payment, a deposit was required, and that a debit card could not be used. The hotel would only accept a credit card or cash. During my travels in mainland China and Vietnam immediately before arriving in Hong Kong, none of the hotels I stayed at required this kind of credit-card deposit arrangement. The policy at this Hyatt felt surprisingly outdated. Even more astonishingly, the front desk told me that I could also pay the deposit using WeChat Pay or Alipay, but that the deposit would not be refundable. I honestly found it hard to believe that this was something I was hearing at a Hyatt property. A “deposit” that cannot be refunded is no longer really a deposit. The room itself was also disappointing. There was no bottled mineral water provided. Instead, there was only a filtered drinking-water system, which required guests to fill water from the bathroom. Regardless of whether the water is technically safe, having to get drinking water from the bathroom simply does not feel pleasant or appropriate for a hotel of this category. Guests also have no easy way of knowing the condition or maintenance standard of the filtration system. The bathroom had several other issues as well. The shower area was very small, the shower head could not be properly secured in position, and the washbasin area did not appear particularly clean. None of these problems individually would necessarily ruin a stay, but taken together, they created a very disappointing experience—especially for someone who had been loyal to Hyatt for many years. After more than 500 nights with Hyatt, I never expected to leave a Hyatt property feeling this dissatisfied. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I would not choose to stay at this Hyatt again, and it has seriously changed my impression of the Hyatt brand as a whole.
Absolute stunning view and fantastic facility. I also request birthday decoration and they did very perfectly. Very recommended and willing to stay at this hotel again.

Great location, hotel room with beautiful stunning view to Habour. Very close to metro and local vibe. Only hiccup when checked in, hopefully we don’t have to encounter that again in the future .

I was so touched by Des when he checked me in. His bright smile, thoughtful recommendations for nearby restaurants, and quick check-in made me feel so welcome. The birthday cake with personalized chocolates was the perfect surprise and made the whole experience truly unforgettable! I also want to thank Biao Ling for taking such wonderful care of my room. She made it spotlessly clean! One particularly touching detail was finding the socks I had left scattered around neatly folded and placed on a fresh towel. Coming back to the room after a long day and seeing that thoughtful gesture genuinely warmed my heart. Lastly, a huge thank you to Karen Lee, Housekeeping Team Leader, for going out of her way to help retrieve the crystal ring I left behind. It is rare to meet someone so genuinely kind and dedicated. I was even told that my ring is now on its way from Hong Kong to Korea! 🤍 To everyone at Hyatt Centric Victoria Harbour Hong Kong, thank you for making my first memories of Hong Kong so special. Your kindness and thoughtfulness made my stay truly unforgettable. I will definitely be back!

Very friendly personnel, always ready to help! My regards to Kelly and Selina, who helped with check-in! The location is convenient, there is a metro station, some convenience stores and cafes and a mall nearby. For jogging there is a walkway along the water. Our room was marked as "city view", but in fact it was partially overlooking the bay, so it was still great. Highly recommend visiting the open pool on top of the building. Breakfast is very good, don't miss on it! I will definitely book this hotel again when I come to Hong Kong.

This hotel's service and breakfast was really good. The room is a bit small but HK is so small so it is understandable. The bed is very comfortable that I felt good

Fantastic hotel and location. Super courteous staff who were always attentive. Front desk was superfast for requests as Explorist member, and so were all other staff. The hotel is snuggled away in a quiet corner, but still very close to the water. The ferry terminals are super close, and so is the MTR (public transit in HK is superb from really anywhere a tourist may end up going). Hotel is shiny and very upscale, which for the $$$ we paid, was a great value. We didnt avail of any food options, except the complimentary drinks at the Farmhouse Deli - which was excellent. The room was somewhat compact, but more than enough for two of us. We got the partial harbor view which was stunning view of the water, mountains and the ferries.
