Sustainability Commitment
OVERVIEW
- Since 2023, Grand Hyatt Bali is certified with EarthCheck and The PLEDGE on Food Waste.
- Our Green Committee helps advance environmental efforts across the hotel while Food Lover’s Committee helps succeed the commitment on food waste reduction.
- We monitor and enhance environmental performance using Hyatt EcoTrack, Hyatt's comprehensive global sustainability software.
- We collaborate with local community organization, such as Magi Farm (upcycling food waste using black soldier fly larvae); ChopValue (chopstick recycling), Soap for Hope (used soap bar recycling); SOS (untouched excess food donation).

CLIMATE CHANGE & WATER CONSERVATION
- We utilize energy-efficient LED lighting extensively throughout the hotel.
- Guestrooms and meeting rooms are equipped with sensors to optimize lighting and temperature control efficiently.
- Both guestrooms and public spaces feature low-flow water fixtures to conserve water.
- The hotel landscape is sustained by reclaimed water resources.
- Through our Conserve program, linens are changed every third day unless guests request otherwise, and towels can be reused by leaving them hanging.

WASTE AND CIRCULARITY
- Plastic straws are not used. Rather, straws made of cassava and rice are offered upon request.
- Plastic covers are not used for dry cleaning. Items are delivered in reusable box made of woven leaves.
- Gently used linens are donated to charitable organizations such as Bali Life Foundation, Mountain Mamas, and Tricycle.
- Wood keycards have been introduced as a sustainable alternative to plastic keycards.
- Used linens are recycled to create sustainable tote bags, which are conveniently available for purchase at the Front Desk.
- On-site drinking water and bottling plant have completely replaced plastic bottled water in guest rooms and during conferences and meetings.
- Vegetable and fruit peelings are utilized into eco-enzyme and fertilizer.
- Garden waste is composted to contribute to a more sustainable environment.
