Private Cocktail Time at Soyotei

Park Hyatt Kyoto is accepting reservations for Private Cocktail Time - "KOHAKU at SOYOTEI - Evening Cocktails with stunning views of Yasaka Pagoda and the Kyoto Sunset".

At the "Soyo-tei" tearoom of "Kyoyamato", a ryotei (traditional Japanese restaurant) established in 1877, located on the hotel grounds, guests can enjoy breathtaking views of Kyoto while indulging in five special cocktails paired with four courses of Japanese cuisine. Cocktails are prepared exclusively by the bartender of the hotel’s "Kohaku" bar. Park Hyatt Kyoto and “Kyoyamato” provide the ultimate private cocktail experience in Kyoto for those guests celebrating an important moment with their special someone.

Welcome cocktail
After arriving at Soyotei, guests are greeted with a refreshing seasonal fruit cocktail combining vodka with seasonal fruit.

The Gardens
A collaboration between Park Hyatt Kyoto and Kyoyamato, two types of cocktails were created to represent the changing seasons and the gardens that reflect the colors of those seasons. These cocktails feature Park Hyatt Kyoto's original gin "Kinobi Seiryu" produced by Kyoto Distillery while ingredients indigenous to Kyoto are also incorporated.

The KYOTO Experience
A drink prepared to encourage guests to enjoy the timeless scenery such as Yasaka Pagoda, the shared gardens, and beautiful Kyoto skyline from Soyotei. This cocktail features Matsumoto Brewery Shuhari ID591 (original to Park Hyatt Kyoto) and combines seasonal citrus with Japanese spirits TUMUGI and Maraschino.

The Last Samurai
The last cocktail is the signature cocktail of Kohaku. This cocktail boasts a rich flavor and is based on the 20-year aged Dictador combined with Hojicha and vermouth. It is a cocktail fit for the Samurai warriors who fought during the Meiji Restoration.

Park Hyatt Kyoto is accepting reservations for the limited time Chef’s Private Dinner at Pagoda House room package available in the hotel’s signature suite Pagoda House.
This package is an ideal option for guests looking to spend a memorable day such as their wedding anniversary, birthday, or celebrating a milestone with their loved ones.


Pagoda House sits atop the property, embedded in the gentle slopes of Higashiyama Hills. As Park Hyatt Kyoto's signature suite, this guest room boasts exquisite views of famed Yasaka Pagoda, Kyoto's urban expanse and the dramatic sunset, providing the perfect backdrop for a special stay.
Executive Chef Tsuyoshi Iryo has created an exclusive one-night-only custom prepared course dinner menu for guests that book this room package. From Pagoda House’s private kitchen, Chef Iryo and the hotel’s resident sommelier will help to create a dinner worthy of your special occasion.


The menu will consist of an amuse bouche, appetizer, followed by entrees of succulent fish and meat, ending with a delectable dessert. A glass of rare champagne will be served before the meal, and afterwards, guests will have a chance to discuss with the sommelier about the beverages of choice, which will be paired in harmony with the Chef Iryo’s menu.

Movie of "Crafts Night vol.10" is now online

CRAFTS NIGHT is an event held periodically by GO ON, a Kyoto-based group with backgrounds in traditional Japanese crafts, together with Park Hyatt Kyoto. A theme for each event encourages open discussion among the presenters, guest speakers and attendees in order to share learning.

The 10th CRAFTS NIGHT will be hosted by Mr. Takahiro Yagi, Master of Kaikado, with special guest, Mr. Hirotoshi Maruwaka,  head of EN TEA, a Tokyo-based tea house. The theme of the event is “Rediscover Crafts and Tea.”

In the 9th CRAFTS NIGHT on January 22, 2021, ceramic artist Akishi Niizato and wooden artist Shuji Nakagawa discussed beauty and aesthetics which form the core of kôgei (craftwork).

In the 8th CRAFTS NIGHT on October 9, 2020, Hosai Matsubayashi, the 16th master of Asahiyaki (a family owned pottery in Uji, Kyoto) welcomed a special guest, Yuki Nara, an architect whose father is the 11th generation of Ohi-yaki Chozaemon of Ohi-yaki Pottery with a 350-year history.  They discussed the theme “Beyond borders”.

Park Hyatt Kyoto has received the HACCP 2021 certification, a guideline for food hygiene management as of January 30, 2020. To pursue food safety and security, at Park Hyatt Kyoto we built an in-house Food Safety Management team to strengthen our already existing system since our opening in October 2019. In the interest of promoting food safety and sustainability internationally, Park Hyatt Kyoto will continue to provide hospitality through food with a high level of awareness.
