Park Hyatt Kyoto has been named No.30 in the new global ranking of The World’s 50 Best Hotels 2023. The list has been announced at a captivating awards ceremony in London, and includes industry-defining hotels from 35 different locations across six continents worldwide.
In Japan, 3 hotels were selected, and Park Hyatt Kyoto is the only hotel selected from western Japan. This long-awaited list is 50 Best’s first foray into the travel space, and its first new global ranking since the launch of The World’s 50 Best Bars in 2009.
Park Hyatt Kyoto, shortly after its opening, faced the challenges posed by the pandemic. However, it was able to achieve this recognition on such an esteemed list thanks to the support of many discerning guests from around the world. Moving forward, our team is committed to uniting efforts, just as our hotel’s unique location and architecture, to provide experiences that can only be found here for our valued guests. We sincerely look forward to the opportunity to welcome all of you again to Kyoto's Higashiyama district in the near future.
Inspired by the craftsmanship of these producers and artisans, Executive Chef Tsuyoshi Iryo and KYOTO BISTRO Chef Yutaka Hirakue, through their interactions with Mr. Ohsugi, aimed to create dishes that not only showcase the producers' faces but also convey the daily life in the bountiful natural landscapes of Tokushima, along with their thoughts and beliefs.
In this event, Mr. Ohsugi's emotionally charged photographs, featuring beautiful natural landscapes, the work of producers, artisans' craftsmanship, and encounters with Park Hyatt Kyoto's chefs, will be printed on traditional craftworks and Awa Washi paper and displayed within the restaurant. While you admire Mr. Ohsugi's evocative photography, savor our carefully curated limited-time menu featuring select ingredients from Tokushima.
On October 7th (Saturday) and 8th (Sunday), we will offer a special dinner course, followed by an à la carte menu available until October 22nd (Sunday).

As you indulge in the culinary experience, enjoy the enchanting performances of Geisha.
Following the dining experience, the historical architectural gem Suikokan at Kyoyamato will serve as the stage for an exquisite Noh performance by Kongo Tatsunori, the young head of the Kongo-ryu Noh School based in Kyoto.
