Notice of a colleague testing positive for COVID-19
On January 20, 2021, we were informed that one of our colleagues has unfortunately tested positive for COVID-19. The colleague was taking preventative measures such as always wearing a facemask as well as regularly using the appropriate disinfectants on hotel premises. The colleague is currently undergoing treatment, and the last workday was Saturday, January 16.
The safety and wellbeing of our guests and colleagues is always our top priority. We have traced colleagues who had contact with the confirmed case. As per the guidelines, these colleagues have taken both antigen and PCR tests and are undergoing a precautionary 14-day self-isolation. Out of an abundance of caution and care, we are arranging for those colleagues to get a COVID-19 test again at authorized medical facilities before they return to work to ensure safety.
The hotel has completed disinfection and deep cleaning of all affected areas in the hotel including areas in the heart of the house.
Park Hyatt Kyoto is committed to caring for our guests and colleagues. The hotel has had in place appropriate measures in response to COVID-19. Other enhanced measures include mandatory daily temperature checks for all incoming guests, associates and contractors. Frequently touched areas such as public washrooms, elevator panels, buttons and lobby door handles are sterilized on an hourly basis, and multiple hand sanitizer stations have been placed at public areas throughout the hotel. All hotel staff members are required to wear facemasks while working, and we also ask our guests to wear face masks in the hotel’s public areas.
We express our sincere apologies for the concern we may have caused to our customers and related parties due to this incident. We remain vigilant in monitoring for symptoms among colleagues and guests, and follow guidelines and protocols recommended by international and local authorities, in an effort to ensure our guests and colleagues remain in a healthy and safe environment.
When Park Hyatt Kyoto reopens July 1, 2020, we will launch our special “to-go” menu using fresh ingredients from our home-style café, Kyoto Bistro. We hope you will enjoy Kyoto Bistro’s special comfort food at your home as well.
