The food menu pays homage to a selection of ten notable and deserving ‘high tea’ delights from around the world. A treasure trove with three tiers of stimulating sweet and savoury flavours starting in traditional England, venturing on a journey through Europe and the Middle East, culminating here in Australia with the fan favourite lamington.

Hyatt Regency Sydney was delighted to host the crème de la crème of the hotel industry at this week’s AHICE / Design Inn event on 8 and 9 September. A first of its kind, this hybrid conference saw just shy of 150 delegates attend in person with over 700 tuning in from all around Australia and the world, from Melbourne to Hong Kong, Honolulu to Shanghai. The two day conference consisted of in person and virtual Q&As and panel discussions with speakers from around the world, breakout sessions, high-tea style served networking lunches and even a socially distanced cocktail event with canapés individually packaged in bio-degradable single use packaging.
Hyatt Regency Sydney are always keen to be on the forefront of initiatives that bring people together, lift morale and encourage connections- albeit socially distanced. Working in collaboration with AHICE / Design Inn, in house AV specialists Encore Event Technologies and organisers Interpoint Events, the hotel is extremely proud to have showcased that it is possible to deliver COVID-Safe, premium experiences in these challenging and restrictive times. Encore’s latest hybrid event technology Chime Live also ensured that online delegates experienced the event in a way that was as close as possible to the in person attendees.
Those physically in attendance were privy to Hyatt Regency Sydney’s new COVID-Safe initiatives, whist maintaining the exemplary service our clients and their guests expect from this five star hotel and event venue. This was complemented by Encore’s MeetSAFE guidelines for safe event production and delivery as well as sanitising all equipment like microphones to ensure everyone had a safe experience. From thermal cameras upon entry, to socially distanced conference layouts, hybrid meeting technology to the new food delivery arrangements, there was overwhelmingly positive feedback on the delivery from the service, technical and indulgent food and beverage perspectives.

The highly anticipated return of Zephyr alfresco, rooftop bar is here. With an unrivalled location, twelve floors up overlooking Sydney’s Darling Harbour, Zephyr boasts a selection of inventive new cocktails, a seasonal snack menu and arguably one of the best spots to watch a Sydney sunset with a drink in hand.
Whist some operational changes have been made to adhere to current restrictions (including smaller capacity, reduced hours and no standing) the exemplary service, upbeat soundtrack, the finest drink offerings and nautical, elegant surroundings Sydney’s partygoers know and love remain..
During the downtime the team were busy testing new ideas and some exciting new cocktails have been added to the menu. For those that like a little heat, try the Smoked Chilli Margarita, with volcanic salt and chilli rim. Looking for something sweet that still packs a punch, the Choco Banana dark and spiced rum cocktail, served with a chocolate cigar will be a treat and with Spring just around the corner, the Elderflower Martini with edible flowers offers a refreshing twist to a classic favourite.
Officially registered as a COVID Safe venue, Zephyr is now taking bookings for small groups. Walk-ins are welcomed (subject to availability) and bookings are recommended to secure your spot, particularly on weekends (pre-authorisation and minimum spend conditions apply for reservations.)
