If you ignore the Salvation Army across the street and all the unhoused folks hanging out, the location is walkable to a ton of great restaurants. The AC was inconsistent throughout the venue. The "marketplace" is highway robbery; just walk 5 min to the CVS.
Hotel is in a very bad and unsafe area. The odor outside of hotel is terrible. I would not recommend it at all. I don't recommend
Andaz San Diego is a beautiful place. Great location with many options for planning with friends, family or business gatherings. I found the all around customer service to exceed expectations..

The Andaz San Diego has a very convenient Gaslamp location and a nice rooftop bar and small pool area. The rooms do show their age and could do with a renovation sometime soon. An interior-facing room has the advantage of being very quiet with essentially no street noise (there can still be some noise from guests in the hallways in the evening and from housekeeping in the mornings). Service is generally friendly.

The hotel is located in the Gaslamp district. It is within walking distance of many restaurants and clubs, as well as PETCO park! Overall a nice place to stay!

Clean, and friendly staff that were very helpful. Love the style of the hotel and the layout. Will return for sure. Rooms were clean and housekeeping was very responsive when things were needed. I love the fact that it was a quick walk to visit the bay and take in the sights. Great job!!

Thank you for your wonderful review! We're delighted to hear you enjoyed our unique style, clean accommodations, and the attentive service provided by our team. It's especially rewarding to know that housekeeping was responsive and helped make your stay even more comfortable. Our location near the waterfront and in the heart of downtown San Diego makes it easy to explore the city's sights, and we're so glad you were able to take advantage of that during your visit. We truly appreciate your kind words and look forward to welcoming you back to Andaz San Diego on your next trip!
This hotel caters to groups and not really to families. The location is very close to homeless encampments and as such makes you feel very unsafe. Room service at this hotel will be very late. On 2/3 days it was done at 3:30 after we called them about it. Overnight parking is 70 which again seems excessive.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. While we're sorry to hear that your experience did not meet expectations, we appreciate the opportunity to learn from your comments. We understand your concerns regarding the surrounding downtown environment, parking costs, and the timing of housekeeping service. We also recognize how frustrating it can be when service does not occur at the time you expect, especially while traveling with family. As a lifestyle hotel located in the heart of the Gaslamp Quarter, our guests enjoy convenient access to downtown restaurants, entertainment, and attractions. We understand that this vibrant urban setting may not be the ideal fit for every traveler, and we regret that it impacted your overall impression of your stay. Your feedback has been shared with our team as we continually work to improve the guest experience. Thank you again for choosing Andaz San Diego, and we hope to have the opportunity to better serve you in the future.
The area is sketchy with homeless just around the corner. The hotel itself is clean but don’t expect any above average service. Doors to bathroom is a swing door and not fully private. You’ll know exactly what’s going on in there while someone’s using it. The rooftop pool and fire pits look nice but we never got a chance to truly check that area out. The gym has peloton bikes and a row machine, which was a plus for me. Overall it’s just ok.

We’re sorry to hear that the surrounding downtown environment, service experience, and room design did not fully meet your expectations. Your comments are appreciated and will be shared with our team as we continue working to enhance the guest experience. Thank you for staying with us, and we wish you safe travels.
Room was very dated and not well up kept. For the price of a busy weekend, it was very underwhelming. I would consider another hotel if there is availability.

Awful experience. Don’t stay here! First off before you even pull up there is a shanty town of homeless people shooting uo drugs. Literally drove past someone pulling their pants down and shooting up, outside an Andaz. Secondly I showed up with my globalist status and was not given a suite upgrade. Typically I tip the front desk person and you get a nice little upgrade. When there are no upgrades available they give the tip back. Not this time, took The money, gave no upgrade and just went about her business. First room we got into had a literal PUBIC hair on the pillow. Never in my life. We asked to switch rooms, the next room smelled so bad the women who helped us move rooms apologized to us. Third room was satisfactory. Then after a full day of exploring San Diego came back to the room. It had not been cleaned. No new towels. I easily spent 4 hours of my vacation talking to housekeeping, front desk, manager, executive of housekeeping. It was wild. Do not stay here, it is not luxury it is not an Andaz.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We sincerely apologize that your stay did not meet expectations and regret the series of issues you encountered during your visit. Cleanliness and room readiness are among our highest priorities, and we are disappointed that we fell short from the moment of your arrival. We understand how frustrating it must have been to change rooms multiple times and later return to find your room had not been serviced as expected. We also recognize the impact these interruptions had on your vacation and are sorry for the time you spent addressing these concerns rather than enjoying your stay. While we appreciate your loyalty as a World of Hyatt Globalist member, we would like to note that suite upgrades are based on availability at the time of arrival. We regret that we were unable to provide the upgrade you had hoped for during your stay. Thank you for acknowledging the efforts of our team members who assisted you throughout your visit. Your comments have been shared with our leadership team as we continue to focus on improving the guest experience and operational consistency. We appreciate your candid feedback and wish you safe travels.
