Waste and Circularity

We take pride in waste-separation methods supported by team members training to ensure proper recycling practices. At Alila Seminyak, we actively reduce the usage of single-use items, such as plastic bottles, while any non-recyclable waste is responsibly managed through approved facilities to minimize environmental impact.

Working with Giving Bag, a charitable company, Alila Seminyak also aims to help local communities by allowing guests to donate unwanted items during their stay, which will be collected upon departure and donated to local foundations in Bali.

Our Food Philosophy

Alila Seminyak embraces sustainability by making mindful choices and committing to earth-friendly farming practices. At our on-site hydroponic garden, we plant organic vegetables and herbs for our farm-to-table dishes and zero-waste cocktails served at Seasalt, supported by collaborations with local farmers and fishers to responsibly source our food products.

Since 2023, Alila Seminyak has also worked with Scholars of Sustenance (SOS) to reduce food waste and support those in need by redistributing surplus food to tackle scarcity issues around the area to support those in need.

Through strategic resource management, Seasalt at Alila Seminyak also exemplifies a genuine dedication to combatting food waste. This unwavering commitment to sustainability has earned Alila Seminyak the Gold Certificate for The PLEDGE with a 94% rating.

Thriving Destination

As part of our commitment to social responsibility and community development, Alila Seminyak works with the Bali Children Foundation (BCF) to support the Food for Thought scholarship program. This initiative equips disadvantaged students in Bali with valuable food and beverage hospitality skills, helping to uplift their families and communities. By nurturing local talent, the program also contributes to strengthening the island’s hospitality workforce.

Since 2024, Alila Seminyak also offers the RAGAM Community Kitchen initiative a heartfelt opportunity to connect, where guests can take part in cooking side-by-side with locals and fellow travelers, preparing nourishing meals with care and intention, and delivering these meals to residents of communities around the resort.

Finally, every guest room features Bali’s essence through the artisanal craftsmanship of Muntigunung Community Social Enterprise, supporting livelihoods in Northern Bali with every meaningful touch.
