Unfortunately, our stay at Hôtel Martinez did not fully meet our expectations, primarily due to the considerable disruptions caused by a filming production, as well as certain aspects of the service. Prior to our arrival, we received an email informing us that access to the areas surrounding the hotel might be more challenging than usual and that, depending on filming requirements, the main entrance might occasionally be replaced by a side entrance. Based on this communication, we understood that the inconvenience would be limited mainly to access arrangements. However, the reality turned out to be quite different. A substantial part of the hotel was affected by the filming. The lobby was frequently inaccessible, the outdoor garden and seating areas were not always available, and the restaurants were also subject to restrictions. At times, we had to enter and move around the property using alternative entrances, which significantly impacted the atmosphere and overall experience. **What was particularly disappointing was that none of these additional limitations had been communicated to us in advance.** The dining arrangements were another source of frustration. On the day of our arrival, we asked whether we could have lunch inside the hotel but were informed that this was not possible due to the filming. Instead, we were directed to the beach restaurant. Unfortunately, it was raining that day, making the prospect of dining by the beach far from ideal. On another evening, when we wished to have dinner at the beach restaurant, we were told that it was unavailable due to a private event. This meant that, on different occasions, both the hotel's indoor and beach dining options were restricted for reasons entirely unrelated to our preferences. We also experienced a disappointing interaction with a member of staff during breakfast, I believe on the second morning of our stay. We asked whether we could sit outside in the garden, as my mother is a smoker and we simply wished to enjoy our coffee outdoors. A female member of staff, whose name I believe may have been Elsa, informed us that breakfast was not served outside. I politely explained that we were not requesting any table service and would be perfectly happy to collect our own breakfast, coffee, and water from inside and simply sit in the garden. She responded that there were no waiters available to serve outside and that the computer system was not functioning properly. What made this particularly confusing was that we could clearly see a waiter serving coffees and juices to guests at two of the approximately four occupied tables in the garden. Despite explaining more than once that we did not require any assistance or service and would not inconvenience the staff, she continued to repeat the same explanation. Unfortunately, her manner came across as unnecessarily dismissive and unfriendly, particularly given how simple our request was. I would, however, like to highlight the exceptional kindness of the gentleman who was serving guests in the garden. He was a middle-aged waiter from Brazil, who was consistently warm, attentive, professional, and genuinely welcoming throughout our stay. His hospitality was greatly appreciated and deserves special recognition. We fully understand that a prestigious hotel such as Hôtel Martinez may accommodate major productions, exclusive events, and private functions. However, guests should be informed clearly and transparently about the actual extent to which these activities may affect their stay. **Had we known in advance that such a significant part of the hotel and its facilities would be unavailable or restricted, we would certainly have chosen another property.** When choosing a hotel of this calibre, guests are paying not simply for a room, but for the entire experience: the atmosphere of the lobby, the restaurants, the gardens, the service, and the freedom to enjoy the hotel's facilities without unexpected limitations. Our disappointment is therefore not with the filming or private events themselves, but with the considerable difference between what was communicated beforehand and what we actually experienced. We had looked forward to enjoying the unique atmosphere and hospitality for which Hôtel Martinez is known. Unfortunately, the combination of unexpected restrictions and certain service shortcomings prevented us from fully enjoying our stay. We would have appreciated greater transparency before our arrival, as well as a more flexible and considerate approach to guests during such an unusual period. For a hotel of this standing and reputation, we believe these are entirely reasonable expectations.

Dear Nadejda, Thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback regarding your recent stay. We are sincerely sorry to learn that your experience did not meet your expectations. While we endeavoured to communicate the impact of the filming activity prior to arrival, we regret that the extent of the disruptions you experienced felt at odds with what had been conveyed. A decent hotel, spacious rooms but not worth the price Also, on the final day, there was a film shoot at the lobby and entrance which was very inconvenient for all guests

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. While I am pleased to read that you appreciated the spaciousness of your room, I am genuinely sorry that your overall experience did not fully meet your expectations and that you did not feel the stay reflected the value you anticipated. Excellent hotel. Beautiful room but outside was noisy due to a very boisterous wedding. Try to get a room above the second floor. Beach club was nice but service was so-so there. Concierge was top-notch.

I made a non-refundable reservation directly through Hôtel Martinez’s official website. Only afterwards did I discover, quite unexpectedly, that the hotel’s own beach would be closed during the dates of our stay. At the very least, this should have been clearly communicated on the official booking website, for example through a pop-up warning before completing a non-refundable reservation. I contacted the hotel and requested that my reservation be cancelled without penalty. The following day, I received a reply saying this would not be possible. I then sent a more detailed email and was told they would get back to me. Unfortunately, the responses were so slow that by the time our stay was approaching, other hotels were either fully booked or only had very expensive suites available. As a result, I had little choice but to keep my reservation and asked that, at the very least, our room be upgraded. The same representative replied that they were pleased with my decision to stay and sent me an email confirming that our room had been upgraded. However, when we arrived at the hotel, the receptionist told us that there were no rooms available for an upgrade and that, despite the written confirmation, they could not honour it. Someone from Guest Relations then came to speak with us and gave us the usual corporate response. I asked that they at least provide us with a late check-out on our departure day, which they did. Apart from our room, I found the hotel very dirty during our stay. There was an extremely unpleasant smell in the corridors, and both the elevators and the lobby were very dirty. Overall, it felt more like a low-category hotel than a luxury property in Cannes. The swimming pool was no bigger than a residential pool. On departure, we called for a bellboy to collect our luggage. After waiting more than 40 minutes, nobody arrived, so we carried our luggage down ourselves. There is simply no compensation for these three disappointing nights. I will not stay at another Hyatt Group hotel again, nor would I recommend one to anyone close to me. It made for a very mediocre Cannes holiday, and I deeply regret not staying at the Carlton, where I had stayed on previous visits.

Overall great experience! We had a Premium Sea View room and the view was everything! Make sure to reach out to the concierge before arrival to set up your reservations for the beach loungers and specifically ask for any adjusted hours for the beach and the breakfast during your stay. Both of these were adjusted during our stay without proper prior notice.. everything worked out in favor (Thank you God) but ultimately the staff should've communicated in advance to set expectations. Felt safe! Very clean. And the location is perfection! Would recommend a Premium or Suite room for sure if you want a little more space. Would stay here again!
