Set against iconic Sydney Harbour, Park Hyatt Sydney is committed to caring for the environment for future generations. Our approach focuses on thoughtful operational practices while enhancing the guest experience.
Guided by our dedicated World of Care Committee, we use Hyatt’s EcoTrack system to monitor the hotel’s electricity, water, gas and waste. This information helps our teams monitor performance across these areas.
World of Care is Hyatt’s approach to caring for the planet, people and responsible business. To learn more, visit Hyatt.com/WorldOfCare.

The harbour is part of the way we manage energy and water across the hotel. Seawater from Sydney Harbour supports our heat-exchange system, cooling the chiller condensers without a traditional cooling tower, and is also used in part of the refrigeration system.
In an unoccupied guestrooms, the Interel system switches off lights and sets air conditioning to economy mode. Public areas and event spaces use LED lighting, dimming and occupancy sensors. Smart electricity meters have been installed to monitor guest floors and the HVAC system, establishing a baseline for future comparisons.
Low-flow fixtures, water-saving showerheads and our linen re-use programme are part of our approach to water conservation.

Park Hyatt Sydney measures and processes organic waste through the Green Eco Technologies system. In the kitchen, the team manages portions and reuses suitable by-products in stocks, sauces and preservation. The hotel also partners with Soap Aid, which collects leftover soap bars, reprocesses them and repurposes them for communities facing significant hygiene challenges. Other initiatives include reusable aluminium water bottles, large-format guest-room amenities, straw removal, back-of-house recycling and the use of FSC-certified materials in guest amenities.

Our menus are shaped by seasonal ingredients and the people who grow and produce them. We work with suppliers such as Newcastle Greens, Aquna Murray Cod, Tajima Australian Wagyu and Musset Farm, and source most of our produce within New South Wales. Where available, native Australian ingredients bring a sense of place to the dining experience.

Through Hyatt’s RiseHY initiative, Park Hyatt Sydney partners with Asuria on employment and skills-development pathways, and with the Australian Business and Community Network on a mentorship programme that connects young people with our colleagues to explore careers in hospitality. We also support Minus18 through fundraising for its work with LGBTQIA+ young people and the creation of safe, inclusive spaces.
