Important Tax Amendments

Green Tax Amendment for Children Under 2 Years
Effective January 1, 2025, children under the age of 2 years will be exempt from the Green Tax. Children 2 years old and above will be charged US$12. This amendment will apply to all travelers visiting the Maldives.

New GST Rates for the Tourism Sector
Effective July 1, 2025, the Goods and Services Tax (GST) rate for all goods and services in the tourism sector will increase to 17% from 16%.
