This hotel is a nice large property with multiple pools and close access to the back bay bike and walking paths. It's also close to balboa island and newport beaches. The rooms are very spacious since the hotel is older. I usually like staying here, but the last time we booked a suite with a pull out couch and the mattress on the pull out was all metal springs. I know pull outs are not the most comfortable to sleep on, but this mattress was the cheapest mattress I have ever experienced. I was surprised that Hyatt would have such low quality. Because of this last experience I would recommend NOT getting a suite if you intend on having someone sleep on the pull out.

I had an absolutely amazing stay! The hotel was spotless — truly one of the cleanest places I’ve ever stayed. ✨ Every corner was immaculate, and you could tell they take pride in keeping everything fresh and pristine. The staff were incredibly kind, welcoming, and always ready to help with a smile. Everything about my visit was wonderful, but the cleanliness was what impressed me most. I can’t recommend this hotel enough!

Overpriced and under delivered. This has so much potential but needs a major overhaul of the rooms, common areas and the pool. It has a motel feel but rooms are old, dated and the common areas lack upgrades and show a work out hotel. Convenient to area for sightseeing but not as a destination to stay and spend time in, I'd stay elsewhere next time.

Exceptional experience staying in the villa suites! I would highly recommend families with young children to stay and play in the private pool area that are offered with the villa experience. Also, the villas are very close to the water slides and larger pool area that offer food service during your stay.

We came here for an overnight and were taken care of as One world members. We were able to get into a room early after a trans continental flight with my disabled senior mom. The hotel is slightly outdated but served its purpose a clean room to sleep in and a safe area. Over priced for what you get but it's an affluent area and that's to be expected.

Staff were pleasant, but the cleanliness and upkeep of the public spaces around the guest rooms was very poor. The day following the Concert Series on a Friday night, there were wine and alcohol glasses left out, and vomit outside a guest room that didn't get cleaned up until late the next day. I told my wife I should have taken photos so I could have included them in this post. I don't normally post reviews, so didn't think to capture it.

This was the selected team hotel for the USA Water polo National Junior Olympics. Our club has stayed here year after year. Some 150+ girls (and the same about of boys in the prior weekend), along with parents. While the rate was competitive, the hotel just felt a little dated. Our issue was the housekeeping this trip, as the one day we asked for our rooms to be made (3rd day into our stay). They only left a stack of towels, didn't take the old ones away, didn't empty the trash. Also, we had noise issues from above us for 2 nights and while several rooms addressed this to the front desk, it took over an hour to get the noise to stop (this was well past 10pm). For the PROS: The location is great... close to all the OC coastal towns, Fashion Island is right there. Back Bay beach/golf course is part of the property essentially. And for the kiddies, there is a nice, wide open pool with water slide. We lucked out with incredible weather. It was also a bummer that after our club spending a lot of money on accommodations (and at the bar), they wanted us to vacate the lobby right after we checked out... just felt rushed in that whole experience.

Great location, good staff always greeted in the hallways & walkways. Several different pools to choose from. This location is close to a lot of restaurants.

Overall, I appreciated certain aspects of my stay, but there were a few key areas that significantly impacted my comfort and could be improved. ​Firstly, noise was a consistent issue. The soundproofing between rooms was notably poor, as I could frequently hear conversations and activities from both the left and right adjacent rooms. Additionally, my pool-facing room was subject to considerable noise from activities in the pool area, which started early in the morning and continued well into the evening, sometimes as late as 9:30 PM. For a long-term stay, this constant disturbance was quite disruptive. ​Secondly, regarding housekeeping, while the team was generally efficient, there's an opportunity for greater attention to detail. Specifically, on several occasions, I observed that the shower area was not thoroughly cleaned, with hair still present on the walls and floor. Addressing these specific points would elevate the cleanliness standards. ​Lastly, I found the handling of my late check-out request to be frustrating. Despite inquiring for just 1-2 extra hours on multiple occasions, I was consistently advised to 'check back tomorrow' or 'on the morning of my departure day.' This lack of a definitive answer and the repeated need to follow up caused unnecessary inconvenience and made it difficult to finalize my departure plans. ​I hope this feedback is helpful for your continuous improvement efforts.
