NO Electricity
No electricity from check-in time at 5pm to 10pm. No LED lights were provided, no relocation, no prior warning, no expected "lights on" updates. The hotel rooms and hallways were total darkness at 6:30pm. The only compensation I was given was $50 off because, according to hotel staff, it wasn't a Hyatt issue it was a Jersey City outage issue.

Dear Chantel, Thank you for staying with us and please accept our apologies for inconveniences you encountered due to the unforeseen local area power outage as we ultimately learned that a transformer up the street failed which caused the outage. We hope you will consider staying with us again so we can redeem your confidence and loyalty.
Hyatt Regency (by name only) not to the Standards
There for a friends wedding - which the events were absolutely stunning!! But the hotel itself needs to assess how they deliver service and are not meeting Hyatt Regency standards. The location is perfection at least!! Valet - post signs/info that there is no in/out privileges. You have to pay every time you get your car. Coffee - there is no hot coffee available during the day if you are in the lobby area. A friend asked for coffee at the bar and was told there is no coffee. He could go next door to Starbucks. This is completely subpar service. THANKFULLY James at the bar made it happen for my friend. He went above and beyond!! No glasses made available for the rooms for drinks (or for the restroom). I asked for an actual glass to the housekeeper and was told none were available. Not Hyatt Regency standards. No Bell help at 8am in the morning!???? Lastly - no one rounds the grounds as there was vomit at the elevator door on the 1st floor to go to valet area. Looked like it had been there all night. WOWZER!!!!

No Hot Water for Half of the Stay and City View King switched to Double without the View
We were visiting New York City for a family trip. I read that the Hyatt Regency was a convenient hotel and that the pricing was more reasonable than Manhattan hotels. It has an amazing view. I booked and paid for a City View King Room, and in all the pictures of the room, there was a couch. At check-in, they asked if we wanted a king room for me, my wife, and my son. I said There is a couch, right? No, they said. This was an issue for obvious reasons, so instead of my City View King Room, I got a double room on the first floor. So I paid for one thing and got something completely different. The pictures were very misleading, and in my opinion I got the full bait-and-switch. Next up was the actual experience. We checked in on Friday, and by Sunday we had no hot water. I tried calling the front desk, but it just rang and rang. We took cold showers and headed out for the day to visit NYC. As we were heading out, I told the front desk that we had no hot water. While we were out, they sent engineering to fix it. We had hot showers on Monday, but on Tuesday we had no hot water again. This was our day to check out, but we also had reservations to visit the 9/11 Memorial at 11 a.m., and we were flying out that evening. So at 9am I called the front desk and let someone know that, yet again, we did not have hot water. They said they would send engineering. Keep in mind that check-out is at 11am regardless. At 9:30, no one had shown up, so I called again. It rang and rang and rang for several minutes, and then hung up. I called back, and it was the same story. I called at 9:45 to ask when we could expect engineering and explained that, on top of checkout, we had a reservation at 11am in the city; she said someone would be right there. 5 minutes later, we took cold showers again and finished packing up to head out. The 9/11 Memorial was one of the main reasons for the trip, and we weren't going to miss it. As we were getting ready to head out the door at 10:15, we got a knock at the door. It's none other than the missing engineering department. I told them they could fix it after we left. We headed out, went to the front desk to check out, and were asked about our stay, so I explained all of this to yet another person at the front desk. She said she would add 5000 points to my World of Hyatt account. I still haven't seen those 5000 points. I can assure you, I would not recommend this hotel. I may never stay at a Hyatt property again after this experience.
Magical weekend!
Lovely hotel with excellent staff, catering to our every need! Made our anniversary weekend truly special! The outside promenade was so lovely to walk along. Having the PATH train right outside the door was so convenient as was the ferry just further down the promenade.
Beautiful hotel and views!
Beautiful hotel and views. Neighborhood is nice, but all good restaurant choices are a drive. I would suggest using uber as the parking situation is very tight.

Worst hyatt regency
This is the worst hyatt regency we ever stayed. Booked a room through hyatt line for 3 nights and the second day I received email saying I am checking out today. Had to reach out to confirm we have 3 nights. And when we got back and went to room the keys didn’t work so had to go to front desk to rekeyed. Front desk (including manager Walid) just laughed at us saying oh this happens a lot, if you have close to phone or something just doesn’t work. But it’s very likely due to they didn’t check in us correctly. Also the hotel put wrong charge on multiple things- charged us for parking (we had no car at all), breakfast ( should be comped as globalist), and each item I had to talk to front desk to get it removed. The hotel is in very outdated condition also, and very poor breakfast offerings. Would mot recommend to stay here.
Extremely Disappointing Stay – Poor Service, Broken AC & Unresolved Issues
Unfortunately, this was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences I’ve had. Before my stay, I called the hotel to let them know that my flight had been canceled and that I would not be able to arrive on the first night. Despite giving them advance notice, the hotel refused to make any adjustment to my reservation and still charged me for the night. Once I arrived, the problems continued. My room was never cleaned during my entire stay. On top of that, the air conditioning was not working properly, making the room extremely uncomfortable. Despite repeatedly bringing this to the hotel’s attention, the AC was not fixed until the last day of my stay, right before checkout. What was most frustrating was the communication from management. We repeatedly spoke with the hotel managers and director, who assured us that the issue would be resolved and gave us multiple explanations about when and how it would be fixed. Unfortunately, those assurances turned out to be untrue, and the issue remained unresolved for nearly the entire stay. Paying for a hotel room is one thing; paying for a room where basic services such as housekeeping and working air conditioning are not provided is completely unacceptable. The lack of communication, follow-through, and accountability from management made the experience even worse. I expected much better service and professionalism from this hotel. Based on this experience, I would not recommend staying here and will seriously reconsider returning in the future.

Poor
Rooms not cleaned, bathroom lights not working, would turn on and off on its own, noise control poor, could hear TV noise from adjacent room

Not terrible - but can't recommend
The front desk were not up to the expected Hyatt standard. They were not rude - but they were not friendly or welcoming in any way. The room was decent but not great. There is wobbling tile on the bathroom floor and the soundproofing in the room was terrible. We could hear guests in adjoining rooms and hallways all night. Location is great though - right next to the Path train to WTC station. The price definitely not worth the value.

frontdesk may need improve to meet the custmer's specifical needs
Why was the front desk unwilling to arrange a room as requested by the client? Also when I booked the hotel, I was not aware that free parking is not available. Just a few hours before checking in, I was notified that free parking is not available, which was unexpected to me
Richard Fetter, General Manager at Hyatt Regency Jersey City, responded to this review
Dear Yingjie, Thank you for staying with us and please accept our apologies for any confusion we caused you regarding the hotel's valet parking fee. We look forward to welcoming you back when your travels bring you back this way.
Miserable arrival experience
The hotel was okay, but honestly our arrival experience was dismal. The arrival parking loop was an absolute unmanaged disaster. We drove into the loop and were stuck for 28 minutes before we could even get our car to the front drop off area. There were dozens of unattended vehicles in the loop blocking driving lanes and only one path for both inbound and outbound vehicles. They actually have the nerve to charge $54 a night for valet parking and clearly have no clue how to actually do it. When we finally got to the door we asked one of the attendants to have a manager call us and explain how something like this could happen, and even today, two days after checkin and a day after checkout, nobody has reached out to us.

Good experience, great location, great views.
The location can't be beat - especially if you are hoping to go into NYC with it's proximity to the Fast Train. The elevators are fast, and delivery services are quick to the hotel. The view of the NY skyline is amazing.

Absolute Gem!
This is a gem of a hotel. Right on the water, I felt like I was on a boat without the movement. Had a view of the Statue of Liberty from my room, so close to the Path train that takes you into Manhattan in 10 minutes for $3.25. Great restaurants and walking paths nearby and felt very safe near exchange place. Cleanest hotel I have stayed at in a while, staff was very friendly and helpful. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

graduation party experience
we hosted a party with over 250 guests, we had event planners and outside caterers. through out the process, we noticed difficulty in getting responses from the event planning tea, at Hyatt. Hyatt servers served wrong food to the tables during dinner. sometimes the same table got multiple dishes of the same and other tables didn't receive any dishes. halfway though the party, Hyatt servers locked the refrigerators and left food inside that was waiting to be served to the guests. Never imagined this kind of service after spending a lot of money
