Independence Gardens, Sliema
Nestled at the edge of Balluta in Sliema, these gardens overlook Exiles beach, a playground for children, fountains and a snack bar frequented by summer beachgoers. The gardens are home to a changing cat sculpture, made as tribute to the cats that live here and the people that take care of them.

Teatru Manoel, Valletta
The Manoel Theatre, named after the Grand Master Manoel de Vilhena, is thought to be Europe’s third-oldest working theatre. It regularly presents shows and performances, including opera and theatre in English, to the audiences filling the 623 seats in the stalls, as well as box seats.

Hastings Gardens, Valletta
Located on top of the bastions of St Michael and St John on the west side of the city gate, these gardens are known for their panoramic views of neighbouring Sliema and Gżira. They are home to two sculptures: a monument to Sette Giugno as well as a Khachqar unveiled by the Armenian community.

Museum of Archaeology
Located in the striking Auberge de Provence on the capital’s Republic Street, this museum is home to almost 5,000 years of discoveries. From the Neolithic to the Phoenician, this museum is the best place to walk through an overview of Malta’s ancient history.

Palazzo De La Salle (Malta Society of Arts), Valletta
This is Malta’s oldest institution for the arts and crafts. The Malta Society of Arts continues its mission to support the arts by providing education and spaces for artists; hosting events and exhibitions that are open to the public throughout the year. Also home to the recently restored masterpiece, the Sala dei Cavalieri.

St John's Co Cathedral
Commissioned in 1577 by Grand Master la Cassière, Malta’s famous co-cathedral is one of Europe’s finest examples of Baroque architecture. Inside are ornate interiors designed by famed artist Mattia Preti, whose paintings adorn some of the nine chapels; along with tapestries by Rubens and paintings by Francesco Potenzano. Caravaggio’s Beheading of St John is the undeniable highlight.

MUŻA - The Malta National Community Art Museum, Valletta
This art museum, relocated to the Auberge d’Italie in 2018, houses temporary exhibitions and a permanent collection of works by artist both Maltese and foreign, with works from artists such as Mattia Preti, J.M.W. Turner, Antonio Sciortino, Edward Lear, and many more.

Upper Barrakka Gardens, Valletta
Like its sibling garden the Lower Barrakka Gardens, the Upper Barrakka provides a panoramic view of the harbour. The Upper Barrakka features an active Saluting Battery, as well as monuments and walkways. It is accessible via lift from Valletta’s ditch.

Palazzo Parisio, Naxxar
What started life as a hunting lodge in the 1700s, Palazzo Parisio has become one of Malta’s most spectacular private houses. Known for its immaculate botanical gardens and its excellently maintained baroque interiors, it is a choice destination for historic exploration, as well as afternoon tea, dining, and events both indoor and out.

San Anton Gardens, Attard
After his election to Grand Master, Antoine de Paule expanded his villa into a palazzo that now serves as the presidential residence, and he built the San Anton Gardens. Stroll along the elegant walkways along sculptures, ponds, families of ducks and peacocks, and centuries old botanical collections.

Sunday fish market, Marsaxlokk
The pride of Malta’s traditional fishing village is its market, where hawkers sell their fresh fish to anyone that makes their way to Marsaxlokk early enough.
