Climate Change and Water Conservation
Hyatt Regency Bangkok Sukhumvit is committed to minimizing its environmental impact by implementing an AI energy monitoring system. In the first year of deployment, the hotel reduced 12% energy consumption compared to the year before.
Waste and Circularity
With the support of an AI-enabled food waste management system, we reduced food waste in our kitchens by gathering more granular information that helps us to refine planning. We were able to achieve a 25% reduction in food waste during the first year of usage in 2024 and continue to strive to improve our performance. Those food waste are then processed through food composter to make compost pellets which are donated to vegetable farmers.
The hotel has implemented a large bottled amenity program, eliminating all single-use toiletry bottles.
The hotel also uses refillable solutions for water rather than single-use bottled water. Additional self-service water or infused water stations are available.
The hotel collaborated with SCG Packaging to recycle over 1,850 kg of PET bottles annually to be turned into dry clothes materials.
Our Food Philosophy
Our priority is to support local communities by sourcing products locally within Thailand. All our egg purchases come from cage-free hens. About 50% of our seafood procurement is from sustainable or responsible sources.
Thriving Destination
We work with the Bangkok Metropolitan Authority (BMA) every year to contribute to a greener, more sustainable Bangkok. As an example, during 2024 we plant over 1,200 trees across Vadhana and Khlong Toei Districts, including Benjakitti Park.
