A beautiful resort that is set in a environment of peace and serenity. It is very Texas, with horseback riding, a rifle range and a beautiful golf course. The golf course is quite challenging with elevated greens, but the mix of creeks, trees, hills, and deer make it a beautiful experience.

Our family of 4 loved this resort! We stayed for a long weekend, which was the perfect amount of time. Our kids, ages 11 and 8, had so much fun here. They loved the bikes to ride all around, the pool area, the animals, and did some of the add-on activities like horseback riding, fishing, and slingshot/BBgun targets. We would definitely recommend this resort to families and would come back again. As parents, we always note a resort where we actually get to relax, and this was one of them!

It was a beautiful resort. Had many activities you could participate in. Pool and Lazy River were fun. Different food options all over the place was nice. Everything we had was delicious. The check-in process was good except that we couldn't split the bill so that each person could pay their portion. It had to be paid all together. Not everyone has that much money on a credit card at one time. Plus, if you only have one card with you, they put a hold on that money, so it locks up your money that you were planning to use for your trip. That was never disclosed to us prior to checking in so we could plan differently.

Beautiful resort, excellent customer service! So many activities for the whole family. I highly recommend, they have everything on the resort and the horseback riding was amazing. The only thing that wasn't so great was the food. Food wasn't terrible but it was not that great.

Will be back and I'm bringing the whole family to do a reunion. What a special amazing place! We loved the complimentary bikes, and the bike rides we had around the old golf course. When we saw the children gathering to play soccer and a watching them drinking a beer in a rocking chair, we realized this was a place we wanted to come back with our kids.

We stayed at Lost Pines and experienced the water park, restaurants, and several of the activities. There are definitely some things to like—the property has a nice atmosphere and the setting itself is beautiful—but once you look past the location and ambiance, I found the actual resort experience pretty underwhelming for what they charge. The rooms were small and unimpressive, and overall the property felt more dated and mediocre than I expected from a resort at this price point. I also never really understood what I was paying the resort fee for. Self-parking is an additional expense despite there being plenty of parking available for hotel guests, and I think parking should either be included with the stay or covered by the resort fee. The food was probably the biggest disappointment. The prices are what I would expect from a high-end resort, but the quality and service often felt like a 3–5 out of 10. Mavericks was especially disappointing. At two or three times the price, I would expect it to be substantially better than a typical casual restaurant, but honestly, I’ve had better meals and better value at places like Landry’s, Chili’s, etc. The pool bar/restaurant was also a pretty frustrating experience. The lazy river was fine, but certainly not something I would return for by itself. Some of the activities were similarly underwhelming. Longhorns & Friends, which is essentially a small petting zoo, was particularly disappointing. The longhorns were mostly walking around at a distance, and the animal area itself was small with relatively few animals that weren’t particularly interactive. I also expected the resort to feel more exclusive given the price. Instead, it felt like essentially anyone could drive onto the property and take advantage of many of the amenities without any meaningful verification that they were actually staying at the resort. That was especially concerning because some of the exterior doors leading into the hotel buildings did not appear to have functioning locks, meaning people could potentially enter the buildings regardless of whether they had a hotel key. The staff were generally okay to good, but nothing particularly stood out. At this price level, decent service should be the baseline rather than something that makes the experience feel exceptional. Overall, Lost Pines has a great setting and a nice atmosphere, but I felt like I was paying luxury-resort prices for an experience that was much more ordinary. The location and ambiance are doing a lot of the heavy lifting. For the money, I expected better rooms, better food, better-maintained facilities, more meaningful amenities, and a greater sense of exclusivity. I’m not saying it was a terrible stay—we had some enjoyable moments—but I’m very unlikely to return unless there are significant improvements. At the current prices, the experience simply doesn’t provide the level of quality or value I expected.

It's a decent place but it's in the middle of nowhere and everything is way over priced. The food is just ok, the drinks are $$$.

I love love love the LOST pines Resort. The staff, food, pools, lazy river, horseback riding - you can’t go wrong! Just a short drive from Houston or Austin or San Antonio! You won’t regret your stay!

We recently stayed at the Hyatt Regency Lost Pines and had such a wonderful time! This trip was extra special because we were celebrating our children’s birthdays, including our daughter’s 15th birthday, and the resort gave us so many beautiful family memories. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed. Our room was beautiful and very comfortable, and we truly appreciated the upgrade and the thoughtful touches for Alex and Samantha’s birthdays. The beds and pillows were so comfortable, and Alex from the hotel staff was especially helpful and kind to us. Our daughter had an absolute blast celebrating her 15th birthday and getting to enjoy the resort in her beautiful puffy quinceañera dress. Seeing how happy she was made the trip even more special for all of us. We were also able to enjoy the lazy river twice during our stay, which was so much fun and such a relaxing part of our getaway. The staff around the pool area were wonderful as well — friendly, attentive, and welcoming. They helped create such a pleasant atmosphere and made it easy for us to simply relax and enjoy our time together. We also had a great experience with the staff at Maverick. Everyone we encountered was kind, helpful, and made us feel genuinely welcome. Those little interactions with the staff throughout the resort really made a difference and added to the overall experience. The property is beautiful, peaceful, and perfect for spending quality time together as a family. We laughed, celebrated, took lots of pictures, enjoyed great meals, and came home with memories that we will treasure for years. Thank you, Hyatt Regency Lost Pines, and especially all of the wonderful staff who helped make our family celebration so memorable. We had an excellent stay and would definitely love to come back!

We had a great time with another family. The basic king room was spacious and worked well for our family of three and our friend family of four. The resort didn't feel overcrowded, even on a holiday weekend, and we were easily able to eat at restaurants both nights without a wait. The staff were friendly an attentive. Will definitely come back for another family staycation in the future.

Beautiful grounds, incredible staff, fun place to get away as a family. We hiked, explore the grounds, enjoyed the nightly smores, booked a rafting trip and a horse back trail ride - an unforgettable trip! Loved that there are in room mini fridges with water stations and microwaves in the hallways. My older kids found the water park not that exciting, but that was our only complaint. Highly recommend!

Beautiful property with many amenities and activities. Everything from horseback riding to trap shooting, golf, floating the lazy river and catch and release fishing. The spa and the restaurants were wonderful and every staff member we encountered was super friendly and helpful. Our suite was spacious and clean and the noise level was quiet which made for a great night’s sleep. We will definitely return!

Ultimate resort to unwind, relax & getaway. Beautiful resort with a lot of options on how to spend your vacation. We loved the lazy river pool. Had a great bar area with delicious food options. Walking the property, enjoyed amazing views around sunset, saw beautiful birds, squirrels & deer. Smores by the campfire was fun. Made a lot of great memories & want to come again.

Great place for a conference and vacation I'd like to return to play golf and relax. I didn't get to explore as much as I would like to but it is very beautiful and secluded. If it was colder outside I would have sat by the fire place and made smores.

We stayed at Hyatt Regency Lost Pines for two nights and spent more than $1,100 on the room and taxes alone, before food, golf, and other expenses. At that price point, I expected the amenities and overall resort experience to be maintained to a considerably higher standard. There were positives. Our room was nice, the property itself is beautiful, and golf was easily the highlight of our stay. The staff were generally pleasant as well. Unfortunately, we encountered one maintenance issue after another. Many of the resort bicycles had flat or severely underinflated tires, and some of the tires were visibly worn and cracked. The outdoor foosball table was heavily rusted and barely usable. The game room was hot and uncomfortable, with an old, small pool table, badly worn cue sticks, very little chalk, and a shuffleboard table that was difficult to use. The lazy river water was yellow-green, extremely warm, and unpleasant to be in. We also had concerning experiences with the elevators. One went out of service during our stay, while another jolted on multiple occasions and appeared to skip floors. Breakfast was perhaps the most disappointing part because we paid extra for a package that included the buffet. The food itself looked very good, but there were gnats flying around the buffet while the lids over the hot food were left open. I closed the lids because of the insects and because the food was getting cold. Staff subsequently reopened them. When I specifically mentioned the gnats and exposed food, I was told that hotel policy required the lids to remain open. Even some of the scheduled entertainment felt underwhelming for a resort at this price point. The outdoor movie night consisted of a very small screen and basic projector setup, and the complimentary popcorn we received was stale. Any one of these things by itself would have been minor. What disappointed me was encountering so many examples during one two-night stay. Collectively, it gave the impression that several of the resort's amenities were overdue for maintenance and that attention to detail wasn't consistent with the premium price. I really wanted to love Lost Pines. The setting has a lot going for it, our room was comfortable, and we thoroughly enjoyed the golf. But based on the condition of many of the amenities and the overall value of our stay, I would have difficulty recommending the resort at its current price.
