General FAQ
Late check-out is based upon availability. Check with the front desk no earlier than 24 hours in advance to inquire. We also have a hospitality lounge where guests with evening flights can relax, shower and freshen up before heading to the airport.
Our check-in time is 4pm. We cannot guarantee your room will be ready any earlier than that. However, you are welcome to arrive at the hotel before 4pm to make use of our pools and other amenities.
Please inquire at check-in with the Front Desk for availability of upgrades.
No, the resort does not have a flat all-inclusive rate.
Hotel Experience & General Information
Two reusable water bottles (with filtered water stations located throughout the resort, self-parking, a reusable tote, Nespresso coffee in-room, select Cultural Center activities, and fitness/ yoga classes, fitness center access, bikes available for use, and more.
The Grand Club lounge is available to guests who booked with Club access and certain qualifying World of Hyatt tiers. It offers light food and beverages morning and night.
The Front Desk is happy to offer you a complimentary bottle of champagne or sparkling cider to help you celebrate!
The Mahaulepu Heritage Trail begins across the sand and goes along the shoreline cliff for a few miles to Mahaulepu Beach. Interpretive maps can be found with Concierge, Front Desk and online.
Rooms & Amenities
Yes, there are laundry rooms for guest use. Detergent is provided.
The pool and hot tubs are open 24 hours. No lifeguard is on duty. The water slide is open from 9:00am - 6:00pm.
Yes, the hotel has one pickleball and one tennis court. The courts are available on a first come, first served basis. Guests may visit valet to borrow balls and rackets on a first come, first served basis. One hour court time daily is offered complimentary.
The Pool Desk is open from 8:00am to 6:00pm. Towels can be found at valet at night.
Parking, Travel & Transportation
We do not offer transportation to/from the airport. It is recommended to book a taxi in advance. Uber and Lyft are available but limited on the island. They are not guaranteed to be available and wait times can be long.
We do have an evening shuttle from 4:30pm - 10pm that runs within a 3-mile radius of the hotel (Koloa/Poipu area) for off-property dining or shopping.
Self-parking is available on site. Valet is also offered for a fee.
Seaview Terrace in the lower lobby area offers live entertainment and is available first-come, first-served. Stevenson's Library serves sushi and cocktails and Tidepools offers fresh fish and steak. Both can be reserved on OpenTable. In-room dining is also available. All menus can be found on our website.
The Grand Hyatt Kauai Luau is offered twice per week, on Wednesdays and Saturdays, 5:30-8:00pm. Enjoy a fabulous feast, entertainment, open bar. Book at grandhyattkauailuau.com
The resort features a full-service spa and fitness center; daily activities/classes are offered. Check the current Resort Activities Calendar at check-in or online.
Spa access is not included in your reservation. However, you can book services which give you full spa access for the day or purchase a day pass through the website or directly at Anara Spa.

Families & Groups
The resort does not have a Camp Hyatt program. If guests are in need of a babysitter, our Concierge can direct you to a babysitting service.
Pets
While we love our pets, we only allow service animals to stay with us. Service animals are individually trained to do work or perform tasks for people with disabilities.
Accessibility
Shipwreck Beach is dangerous to swim due to strong currents, rocks, etc. We recommend Poipu Beach, which is 4 min drive / 25 min walk from the hotel. There is a lifeguard on duty and beachgoers will sometimes see turtles and a Hawaiian Monk Seal lounging. The resort does have multi-level pools including a saltwater lagoon for safer swimming conditions.
