Notice of a confirmed COVID-19 infection from a partner company associate

(as of November 25, 2020)

On Friday, November 20, 2020, one of hotel’s contracting agencies was informed by the Chiba Health Department that an associate working at the hotel’s back office tested positive for COVID-19. We are providing support and appropriate assistance to our colleague and contracting agency.

Since receiving this news, the hotel has thoroughly deep cleaned and disinfected employee areas such as the office and common spaces. In addition, the Chiba Heath Department has informed us that no other colleagues were considered in close contact with the individual.

Out of an abundance of caution and care, we have proactively asked on other colleague to undergo self-quarantine, and engaged with a professional medical facility to conduct COVID-19 testing for this colleague. The test result came back negative on Tuesday, November 24th.

We express our sincere apologies for concern we may have caused to our customers and related parties due to this incident.

Andaz Tokyo Toranomon Hills is committed to caring for our guests and colleagues and upholding the highest standards of cleanliness. The hotel has had in place appropriate measures in response to COVID-19. These measures include mandatory daily temperature checks for all incoming guests, colleagues and contractors. Frequently touched areas such as public washrooms, elevator panels, lobby door handles, guestroom doorknobs are sterilized on an hourly basis, and multiple hand sanitizer stations have been placed at public areas throughout the hotel. All hotel staff members are required to wear facemasks while working, and we also ask our guests to wear facemasks in the hotel’s public areas.

We remain vigilant in monitoring for symptoms among colleagues and guests, and follow guidelines and protocols recommended by international and local authorities, in an effort to ensure our guests and colleagues remain in a healthy and safe environment.
