What is the wedding venue capacity?
The Gallery is a contemporary venue accommodating up to 120 guests seated. Featuring commissioned Australian artworks, it offers the flexibility of dividing into three intimate event spaces, or one large sophisticated venue.
The Guest House offers uninterrupted views of the Sydney Opera House & presents a unique venue for up to 70 guests, including use of The Study, with a private outdoor terrace and presentation kitchen.
On its own, The Study provides an ideal private dining option for up to 20 guests. The Study showcases fine wines from around the world with its feature floor-to-ceiling glass wine cellar and offers direct, spectacular views of the Sydney Opera House.
Do you offer cocktail wedding receptions?
Yes, however there is no self-serve food or beverage permitted.
I have booked an outdoor ceremony. What if it rains?
We recommend that if you are booking an outdoor ceremony, a wet weather option be secured in the event of bad weather. We encourage your wet weather venue be booked in advance to ensure it can accommodate the number of guests attending your event. Please contact our events team to discuss your options.
What accommodation do you offer for the bridal couple and their family & friends?
The Gallery and Guest House Wedding packages are inclusive of your wedding night accommodation. Should you be interested in looking at alternative guestrooms, we would be most delighted to assist.
We understand you may have family and friends who require accommodation for your wedding. We would be pleased to extend preferred accommodation rates, subject to the number of guestrooms required and availability. Please contact the events team for further assistance.
What décor and decorations are included , and what is not included?
Our Wedding Packages include the following items:
- White linen and napkins
- White frosted tea light candles
- Table numbers
- Menu cards
- Cake table and cake knife
- Personalised guest seating plans
Real loose leaf petals, confetti, fireworks, pyrotechnics and open flame candles are not permitted in our venues.
Should you wish to arrange any decorations or styling, we’d be happy to put you in touch with our preferred partners specialising in this area.
Can we have a band or DJ at our wedding?
You are most welcome to arrange entertainment for your wedding. Please note that all entertainment must be approved by Park Hyatt Sydney in writing prior to being confirmed for your event. Bands and amplified music must reduce volume at 11:00 p.m., with all music concluding promptly by 11:30 p.m.
A maximum of a three-piece band is allowed, and please be advised drums of any kind are not permitted. Kindly note the musicians’ award stipulates that all entertainers must be provided with a meal. These are provided at a nominal charge to the event account.
Do you offer a wedding cake?
Whilst we don’t provide wedding cakes, you are welcome to bring your own cake and we’ll assist with cake service and presentation. Our cakeage fee starts from $100, depending on number of guests.
Do you have a preferred partners list?
Yes! We have a list of our ‘favourites’ and would be happy to put you in touch with experts in a variety of areas.
What times can my vendors access the venue for set up?
Our wedding venues are available for daytime celebrations (through to 4.30pm) and evening weddings (starting from 6.30pm). For day events access for set up is from 9am. For evening events, access to set up is from 5:30pm. Should you require access for set up earlier than these designated times additional charges will apply. Please note vendor parking is not available.
When must the venue be bumped out?
As we do not have storage facilities at Park Hyatt Sydney, your wedding must be packed up at the conclusion of the event. All vendors must be made aware of this arrangement upon confirmation of your booking.
Can our guests stay in the venue after midnight?
Your guests are welcome to remain in the venue after midnight however this needs to be confirmed with the hotel in advance. A post-midnight surcharge of AUD$1000 per hour is applicable to all events.
Where can our guests park?
Valet parking is available Monday - Friday at AU$55 per vehicle, subject to availability. Please note valet parking is not available on weekends, however there is metered street parking outside the hotel, in addition to a number of parking stations within walking distance of the hotel.
How do I confirm my wedding?
Once you have confirmed in writing that you would like to proceed with your wedding at Park Hyatt Sydney, your wedding specialist will provide you a Letter of Agreement, Terms & Conditions, Credit Card Authorisation Form and request for payment.
What is the deposit to secure my wedding?
A 50% non-refundable deposit is required. Deposits can be made via direct deposit, cash, cheque or credit card.
A completed credit card authorisation form and copy of the card must be provided at time of paying your first deposit and will be placed on file as guarantee for your booking. All payments via credit card will incur a 1.95% handling fee.
What if none of the Wedding Packages are right for us?
Our wedding packages have a number of great inclusions however let us know if you’d prefer a customised package to meet your needs. Our events team would be happy to assist.
What are the COVID-19 rules regarding weddings?
- Event capacity of our venues is based on the NSW government restrictions of one guest per two square metres in an existing area.
- Only the wedding party (up to 30 people) can be on the dance floor at any one time.
- Group singing and wind instruments (such as flute, oboe or clarinet) should be avoided.
- Solo performers should maintain at least 1.5 metres physical distance from other people.
- Names and mobile numbers or email addresses for all guests and contractors must be provided and will be kept for a period of at least 28 days. Records are only to be used for tracing COVID-19 infections and stored confidentially and securely.
Park Hyatt Sydney abides by NSW government guidelines, and guests attending an event at the hotel must adhere to those guidelines. NSW Public Health restrictions and guidelines are subject to change without prior notice or consultation.
