Beautiful historic hotel centrally located. Convenient to walk to the UNC campus and Franklin Street. Nice dining and service.

The Carolina Experience is at the Carolina Inn
I initially visited the Carolina Inn as a prospective high school UNC applicant. After gaining admission into UNC, I would come by the hotel after classes during my undergrad tenure just to have one of their delicious chocolate chip cookies. Just one. I came back to stay at the hotel 10 years later and this visit was just as special as it was 14 years ago. If you're in Chapel Hill, this should be the first and only place you stay. Go Heels!

Carolina Inn is a well-restored classic!
As a UNC Alum, I was super excited to show our son the Chapel Hill campus. Hadn't been back to Chapel Hill in nearly 20 years and was pleasantly surprised at how lovely the Carolina Inn is. It was always a great place, but the renovations they've done since I last visited are top notch. We had comfy beds, welcoming lobby with lots of seating, grab and go food options, small well stocked gift store and delicious dining options. And so great b/c it's basically ON the UNC campus, a few blocks from Franklin Street, and a ten minute stroll to the student union where our tour started. Looking forward to coming back.

Amazing Friday in Chapel Hill

Southern charm
We were there for sports at UNC. The location is amazing - close to the campus and also to Franklin street. The hotel is lovely with many amenities. We especially liked sitting outside on the porch having dinner.

Nice hotel, horrible management
We had a wedding block and our suite was not ready because “a Hyatt executive was in the room”. We had multiple events over multiple days and the hotel even tried to violate parts of the contract we signed. Totally pretentious and obnoxious place- I can’t believe Hyatt is associated with them (or maybe I can?)
