  • Relaxing adventure

The Elms is a beautiful resort in a quaint little town. The history and atmosphere was absolutely amazing, we had a great time lounging by the pool, playing yard games, and having a great time!

  • Look Elsewhere

Enjoy the spa for a pretty penny but don’t stay overnight. Overpriced mediocre food, facilities need attention, and staff couldn’t care less about the level of service that should come with the exorbitant price for a night’s stay. Spend your money elsewhere.

  • Wonderful location to celebrate a special event

This is the fourth time visiting this hotel for anniversary. They surprised us with champagne and free desserts. The staff went above and beyond to make it a special occasion for us. The pool was beautiful as always

  • Staycation spot 6 years in a row

Love going to The Elms for a little family staycation. The pool is clean and kid friendly. The signature suites are large and comfy, the additional dining table is so helpful. With four people the breakfast included package is the way to go. The dining area is very nice and the kids feel like they have gone to a fancy restaurant. Everyone thought the food was delicious. Front desk, housekeeping and restaurant staff all go above and beyond to make it a great stay!

  • Fine. Nothing special.

The staff here is so friendly and genuinely wonderful. The food was ok, pricey though for what you're getting. It feels like EVERYTHING at this hotel is an extra charge. If you're not doing the amenities for the additional charges, you're paying a very premium price for a pretty basic hotel. We paid almost $800 for 2 nights with access only to the outside pool & hot tub (indoor was out of order) and fitness center.) We couldn't even get pool loungers because it was so busy. The bartenders by the pool were wonderful and very accommodating. We could hear EVERYTHING happening in the rooms on either side of us as well as in the hallway. The walls are quite thin - also, no room fridge.

Dear Nyboki1982, Thank you for sharing your experience. It's heartening to hear that our team members made a lasting impression, especially those at the pool bar—genuine hospitality is something we take pride in. We also appreciate your honest perspective on areas that left you feeling underwhelmed. While many guests enjoy the range of amenities available, we understand that value is felt differently depending on how those offerings are used. Your comments regarding noise between rooms, limited pool seating, and the absence of a mini-fridge in your room are all noted. We also recognize that having indoor facilities temporarily unavailable can affect the overall experience, particularly during a busy stay. We strive to provide a balance of comfort, service, and atmosphere, and your insights help us continue that work. Thank you again for offering both praise and constructive feedback—it’s the kind of input that allows us to better meet expectations in the future. Duke Christopher General Manager

  • A tale of two Hotels

The Elms is an experience of extremes on both ends of the gamut. The good: the massage therapists are excellent, the Grotto is unique, the grounds are absolutely beautiful and immaculate. The landscaping around the pool is stunning. On the other side - there was a dead bug on the windowsill, standing water in the shower, the shower gel was completely empty, the air conditioner sounded like a jet taking off. A breakfast plate from our neighbors was left sitting out from our check in until the next morning with smoked salmon on it. We went to the pool late at night and no one had cleaned up from the day, there was cups, towels and food containers all over the edge of the pool and the deck. All together, its always an experience and such a easy getaway from KC. I do wish they could get some more staff on board to address the cleaniless issues.

Dear AnneHarper23, Thank you for sharing your detailed impressions. It’s wonderful to hear you enjoyed the beauty of the grounds and found the spa experience and massage therapists to be memorable highlights—those are aspects we’re proud to offer our guests. At the same time, it’s understandable how certain oversights may have affected the ease of your visit. Feedback like yours offers perspective and helps us focus attention where it’s most needed. We truly value your insight and hope your next escape from KC feels more in line with what this destination is meant to provide. Duke Christopher General Manager

  • A Great Weekend Getaway

Visited the Elms with a friend to celebrate my 50th birthday. The hotel is clean and service in the hotel, spa, and breakfast cafe was exceptional. I can't say enough about the spa experience. Martha provided the best facial I've ever had, and I am still dreaming about the grotto! I would go back again just for those precious 2 hours in the grotto! If you have the chance, I'd also recommend Jay's ghost tour. It was fun and I learned something. There is definitely room for improvement in the restaurant options. Both the Owls and the Tavern served food that was terribly oversalted; we couldn't finish either meal because of it. The drinks were not well-made. My friend ordered Old Fashions, and I asked for a lemon/lime/bitters non-alcoholic drink - neither were good in either location. The service in both needs an upgrade. Overall, though, The Elms was a great experience, and I would definitely return.

  • View isn’t worth the climb

Great staff but the place is dated and the value isn’t there. The food is low quality, but the beds and A/c were solid. Housekeeping only makes the bed.
