This time we had good and nadk experiences. I think unless there's so upgrades next year we'll go back to our other favorite adult only hotel.
When we were informed of a potential hurricane we were told that we would be evacuated to a hotel in town if needed. They were clear that it wouldn’t be a resort type of environment but it would be safe and clean. Then the story changed that we were being evacuated to a public shelter at a school for 1 to 2 days. That option is horrendous given the information we had been given previously. We were lucky to get flights out that day but if not we would’ve been stuck. Incredibly disappointed and furious about the lack of information that was given to the hotel guests. The majority of the information we got in a timely manner because we were calling and asking questions. Yes we are getting a refund for half hour stay but that is a drop in the bucket compared to the stress that this misinformation created and impacted not just our vacation but we experienced an incredible amount of stress! It’s inexcusable
While hurricane Simon wasn't Hyatt’s fault, their handling of the evacuation was disappointing. We received less than 90 minutes to pack and leave. During the chaos, the front desk dismissed me twice, pushing me to my travel agency instead of offering guidance. Additionally, we were never notified in advance that the beach was inaccessible during our stay. Staff provided zero assistance with our expiring leisure cash and didn't offer to contact us if the resort reopened. The property itself is nice, but their customer service and communication during a crisis left much to be desired. I’ve yet to receive a response from them about all this.
First, I want to acknowledge the many staff members who work incredibly hard and go above and beyond to make guests feel welcome and ensure they have an enjoyable stay. They absolutely deserve recognition and praise. That said, the overall service experience was inconsistent, and the food was average at best. One of the things that left the strongest impression on me was the entertainment setup. I was genuinely surprised and disappointed that the performers did not have a proper stage and were instead expected to perform in the hotel lobby. Watching talented performers, particularly those putting on a circus show, trying to deliver their acts in such an unsuitable setting was uncomfortable and frankly embarrassing. A resort of this caliber should provide its entertainers with a proper venue that showcases their talent and allows guests to fully appreciate the experience. Another disappointment was the lack of attention to special occasions. We mentioned on two separate occasions that we were celebrating my birthday, yet the day came and went without so much as an acknowledgment. On the day we rented a cabana, a staff member specifically told us she would bring a special birthday cake, but nothing ever arrived. It wasn't about the cake itself, but rather the promise of a thoughtful gesture that was never fulfilled. Ultimately, I would describe the experience as hit or miss. There are some truly wonderful people working at this property who elevate the guest experience, but the inconsistency in service, average dining, and disappointing entertainment setup fell short of what I would expect from a resort of this caliber.
Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta has it all if you are not bothered about a good evening meal. Its location on a secluded bay is picturesque and numerous pools are ideally positioned right on the bay. There are two adult pools which is a nice option if traveling without children. The rooms are clean and of a good size as well as the bathrooms. My only negative point about this hotel is the choice for evening meals. Firstly, the buffet was not open in the evening which is always a good fall back place to eat if one does not feel like a nice sit down served dinner. Here for the evening there were only four restaurants to choose from and the quality and choice of food in these was not of a high standard. Also not all were always open so you had to juggle your calendar to make sure you could get an evening meal. The hotel’s location is out of the main Puerto Vallarta area which is nice and quiet but options for external dining is a taxi ride away. If this hotel could improve on the evening meal option it would be a perfect 10.

Dear garyjQ4888GY, Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughtful feedback about your stay at Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta. We are delighted to know that you enjoyed our beautiful location, nestled in a secluded bay, as well as our pools, adult-only areas, and the comfort and cleanliness of our accommodations. It is wonderful to hear that these aspects helped create a relaxing and enjoyable vacation experience. At the same time, we sincerely appreciate your comments regarding our evening dining options. We understand the importance of having a variety of choices available, especially at an all-inclusive resort, and we regret that the restaurant selection, operating schedules, and overall dining experience did not fully meet your expectations. Your feedback regarding the quality, variety, and availability of evening meals has been shared with our culinary and operations teams as we continually look for ways to enhance our guests' experiences. We are pleased that you found our location to be peaceful and scenic, offering a tranquil escape from the bustle of downtown Puerto Vallarta. We understand, however, that the distance from the city center can make off-property dining less convenient for some guests. Thank you once again for your valuable observations. We are honored by your kind words and especially grateful to know that, with improvements to the evening dining experience, you would consider Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta a perfect destination. We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back for an even better stay in the future. With Service from the Heart, Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta Management team.
The place is very nice, the view, pools and common areas are bery good, but do not expect something remarkable. Buffet is lower than average. "Speciality restaurants" are a little better, but for the good meals, you need to pay more, they are not included in the "All inclusive" plan. That is ridiculous. People is very friendly and very kind, services are good. The atmosphere is to relax and spend time with the family. So if you enjoy your family, being together and relax, is a good option. If you are looking for a VERY good Buffet and Drinks, this is not the place.

Good food, great attention and nice location. The all inclusive is well worth it and the only problem was the elevator been out of service mid stay. For people with mobility issues and during the rainy season, this was not ideal.

As frequent visitors to Hyatt properties in Mexico, we expected the same high level of satisfaction during our stay at the Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta. Unfortunately, this location fell short on multiple fronts. Arrival & Accommodations: Upon checking in, the advanced age of the building was immediately noticeable. By far, the most difficult part of our stay to accept was the inadequate air conditioning in our room, which made it tough to stay comfortable. Resort Layout & Amenities: Exploring the property also presented safety concerns. When I attempted to walk up to the pickleball courts, the route required to get there felt distinctly unsafe and poorly maintained. Dining & Drinks: Overall, the resort's food left much to be desired. While the general drink options were average, the drinks at the adults-only bar were exceptional—largely thanks to Raphael, a staff member who went above and beyond and set a high standard for service. The Sunday Night Dining Pivot: The dining situation hit a low point on Sunday night when two of the resort's restaurants were closed, leaving a meager 2-3 food options available at an all-inclusive resort. However, this forced us to venture out into town for dinner, which ended up being a blessing in disguise. The two local restaurants we tried featured the freshest food and wonderful staff. Departure & Final Night: On our final night, one of our friends became ill. A standout staff member working weekend nights inside the sports bar stepped up to help deliver food to our friend's room and wished them well. Throughout our stay, despite the property's shortcomings, the individual staff members genuinely tried their best to make each day pleasant. Conclusion: While we would still gladly stay at other Hyatt properties in the future, unfortunately, the Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta will not be on that list.

We really enjoyed our stay at Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta. The customer service was stellar throughout our visit, and the staff consistently made us feel welcome and well taken care of. The resort grounds were clean and well maintained, the pool was refreshing, and we especially enjoyed spending time on the beach. We visited in early September and there were plenty of beach palapas available, which made it easy to find a comfortable, shaded spot without having to compete for chairs. Food was another highlight. The hibachi at the specialty restaurant was very good, the pizza was excellent, and the breakfast buffet was stellar with plenty of options to start the day. The biggest disappointment was the cocktails. Unfortunately, most of the mixed drinks we tried were only about a 2–3 out of 10. At an all-inclusive resort, we expected the cocktails to be much better. We also didn’t love the push to attend the resort’s timeshare/“fractional ownership” presentation. We would have preferred to enjoy our vacation without that aspect of the stay. Overall, though, we had a very enjoyable experience. The excellent customer service, beautiful and well-kept property, relaxing pool and beach, and several standout food options made Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta a great place to spend a few days in Puerto Vallarta.
