Great location. Wonderful hotel. Restaurants were great too and easy walk to the pier. Rooms were cool and view was amazing

Great mini vacay

Stayed here this weekend and had an excellent experience with customer service. We booked a quick weekend trip through Costco, which had a great deal. The first room we checked into had a minor issue, and since the hotel was sold out that night, we weren’t able to move immediately. It was nothing significant and manageable for one night. The following day, we were moved to a new room with no further issues.

The rooms are nice and I loved the bathroom decor! The food here was amazing too! The location is right across from the beach! There is a cute playground at the beach and lots of volleyball courts! 

Additionally, the manager, Gavin, was absolutely amazing, very kind, professional, and attentive. He took great care of us and ensured everything was handled smoothly. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

GAVIN  is amazing

Mar Monte Hotel Santa Barbara. High price, average experience. The in room coffee maker didn't forcing us to purchase the weak, expensive coffee in their restaurant. Only 1 chair in the room so we weren't able to have a meal in the room. Expected balcony and didn't have one

Not as expected. Great location but didn't feel the value of this over priced room.

What stood out the most was the exceptional service, especially from Danielle at the front desk. We arrived tired after a long drive, and she immediately made everything better. She was warm, professional, and genuinely kind, making check-in effortless and stress-free. Danielle took the time to answer our questions, offered helpful suggestions, and made us feel truly welcome. Her positive attitude and care completely changed the tone of our arrival and set us up for a great stay. She is a true asset to the hotel and made our experience much better than expected.

Amazing welcome!

Upon arrival, I was assigned a room on the third floor with no balcony and no working elevator, which was very inconvenient. As a result, I was required to move rooms to an entirely different building, causing further disruption and inconvenience.

Additionally, the heater unit in the room was extremely loud and ran throughout the night, making it very difficult to sleep. This significantly affected the quality of my stay and overall comfort.

I am disappointed with this experience, as it did not meet the expectations set at the time of booking. I hope you will review this matter and consider appropriate compensation or resolution.

Disappointed stay

Would not recommend to travel with a baby to this location. Rooms are small, floor was damp when we arrived. The room was also noisy with street noise and a weird humming/buzzing noise every hour even throughout the night that would last about 10-20 minutes. With a pack and play on the floor, it caused a disaster when trying to sleep with the baby. Even with the loud white noise machine it wasn't enough to block the noise. We could feel the buzzing and loud humming noise even on the bed. There's also just one very hard chair to sit with baby in the room.

Not suitable for families or light sleepers

The hotel location was great. Near the beach and zoo. The room itself was average. Could really use a facelift. It had a damp, old smell to it. I believe I heard the hotel is about 90 years old. The AC was really noisy and made random rattling noises. The bath tub drain was not working properly. Also the walls are super thin. They put us near dog owners and the dog was barking non-stop till at least 12:30am. I tried to call front desk but it just rang out. It was NYE so probably had skeleton staff. Staff at check in and check out was very friendly. The lemon cookies on our first day was delicious but sadly we didn’t see any more after that! The staff at Lito was very nice and friendly. Food was a little slow. It was great to have the free self park option because valet was crazy expensive.

Nice location, friendly staff but hotel can use an update

Great location - super close to Montecito, but also close to the Funk Zone. So you can go either way. They have complementary bikes, yoga, cookies, and a great selection of wine. 

Staff are all accommodating to every request, and went above and beyond to ensure I had a great stay.

Great stay!

We had a very disappointing experience. We were made to wait more than three hours past our check-in time. The following day, room service failed to clean our room altogether.
We were also charged for valet parking, which was never disclosed at the time of booking. When we asked for some form of accommodation due to these issues, our request was refused.
Considering the inconvenience, complimentary breakfast or some goodwill gesture would have been appreciated, but none was offered. Unfortunately, this stay did not meet expectations, and we will not be returning.

Disappointing Stay with Poor Service

Highlights: Great location. Beach front. Walk few hundred feet to the sand and enjoy beautiful ocean.  Ballet staffs were friendly and helpful. The on-site restaurant foods were ok. Downtown nearby provided excellent food experience with reasonable price
