The hotel is set in a beautiful, small golf town surrounded by valleys and mountains, and the setting itself is very peaceful and scenic. However, the location is not suitable for walking — pavements end quickly outside the hotel, meaning you need a car to get around. The hotel atmosphere is generally calm and quiet, though it does depend on the mix of guests. Rooms are spacious, well designed, and very comfortable. Housekeeping is excellent — the hotel is spotless, and any requests are handled quickly and efficiently. The gardens and outdoor areas are also lovely.
Service is mixed. Restaurant staff are fantastic, while bar tenders can be less flexible or accommodating.
The biggest disappointment is the amenities. In winter, the outdoor pool is not heated and cannot be used, and access to the indoor pool costs €30 per person per day but water in the pool is so cold I couldn't use it anyway. Charging extra for such a basic facility in a five-star hotel felt unreasonable, particularly given that there is very little else to do on-site. Overall, the lack of included amenities significantly detracted from what is otherwise a very beautiful hotel.

Quiet, stylish hotel, good for golfers but not for longer family vacations

La Zambra is so much more than a hotel - it is an experience. The rooms and breakfast facilities were superb and the staff were super polite and helpful.

A wonderful hotel in a tranquil setting

Beautiful hotel in a wonderful setting. Staff all lovely. Spotlessly clean. Spacious rooms have wonderful bathrooms and terraces.

Beautiful and serene

Excellent resort with outstanding service, great linens and bedding, excellent restaurant, good spa termal facilities and ample of spa services, beautiful golf course , close driving from Malaga airport, Marbella and Mijas Pueblos.

great experience from start to finish- clean well laid out rooms plenty of space and everything worked. Nice decor, very calming effect, great job with plenty of quiet space to relax- well done

Business trip but with a charming experience

The hotel is beautiful and the staff was exceptional! Everyone was so helpful and friendly! I would highly recommend a stay at this lovely resort!

Exceptional service!

This is a review that I need to preface with the fact that I'm a Hyatt Globalist member that routinely logs between 70-90 hotel stays a year. 

My wife and I spent a week in Malaga and selected the La Zambra resort to stay. I had never stayed at a hotel that was part of the Unbound Collection and I was excited to learn more about this resort. 

The resort is about 20 minutes from the airport and 30-35 minute from downtown Malaga. 

The resort itself is gorgeous. It has a true Mediterranean feel. The back of the resort is wide open with 2 pools, 1 for adults and 1 for families. There are plenty of chairs, cabanas, and umbrellas. The adult pool in particular is very quiet. There was also an area by the pool that sold drinks and snacks until 7 at night. 

The Palomito restaurant was very impressive. Their breakfast spread has just about anything you could want. Eggs, pancakes, french toast, fruit, a range of juices, a pastry section, yogurt. Dinner was also very good. 

There is a spa, gym, and golf course for anyone interested in those activities. We didn't use the golf course, but it is very popular. 

Overall I was very impressed with the resort, I would definitely recommend it if you are in the area.

Amazing resort on the outskirts of Malaga

The resort is beautiful, its literally just as beautiful as the pictures. The resort is clean, the staffs are friendly and responsive. Everything you want in a resort is present here. I will definitely recommend this hotel.

Amazing resort, definitely worth staying

Wonderful staff, hotel, food and relaxing spa - thank you, this hotel is so calm, friendly, sophisticated and a tribute to all who run and operate it.  A memorable relaxing stay.  Top tip is the taxi's are good and afford easy visits to nearby towns, coast, historic white village on the hillside and we enjoyed visiting these early evening as the heat cooled, to then retreat back again for more relaxation in this superb hotel.
