Relaxing family holiday
Wonderful staff, hotel, food and relaxing spa - thank you, this hotel is so calm, friendly, sophisticated and a tribute to all who run and operate it. A memorable relaxing stay. Top tip is the taxi's are good and afford easy visits to nearby towns, coast, historic white village on the hillside and we enjoyed visiting these early evening as the heat cooled, to then retreat back again for more relaxation in this superb hotel.

Disappointing experience for a hotel of this standard
We stayed at La Zambra recently and, unfortunately, the experience didn’t match the high expectations set by the hotel’s branding or price point. From the start, there was confusion at check-in and we were charged for a second room we never used, despite making it clear we only needed one. The issue was never properly resolved and communication from staff was poor throughout. The room we did stay in wasn’t cleaned to an acceptable standard, with visible dust and a general sense it hadn’t been freshly prepared. A few things in the room weren’t working properly either, which added to the frustration. What surprised us most was the lack of complimentary water refills — we were told we had to buy bottled water from the bar, which seems unreasonable for a resort in this category. Small things like that made the stay feel far below the level of service you’d expect from a five-star property. We’ve followed up with the hotel directly but received no proper resolution so far. Overall, a disappointing experience that didn’t reflect the premium pricing.

Following your communication, our Front Office Manager and Assistant Front Office Manager reviewed your case in detail and met with you to explain the process followed in your booking. As discussed in person, the initial proposal included the option of two adjoining Deluxe King Rooms, as we do not have interconnecting King Rooms available, and the supplement mentioned corresponded to the quotation for the Family Room. Regarding the room, we have taken note of your comments and truly appreciate you sharing them with us, as they help us strengthen our procedures and ensure that we continue to care for every detail of our guests’ experience. In order to provide you with the best possible solution during your stay, we offered an upgrade to a Family Room for the last two nights. Respecting your preference not to move rooms, we exceptionally provided the second room at no charge for those nights and processed a corresponding refund of €658 on the spot. In addition, we accommodated your request for a late check-out until 16:00 on the day of departure and offered the use of the pool and spa facilities while your luggage was safely stored. We thank you for your trust and hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back in the future, so that you may enjoy an experience fully in line with the level of service and hospitality that characterises La Zambra. Lovely experience
Hotel is beautiful, interiors are well thought out and it feels very luxury and everywhere is super clean. Facilities are great, spa is lovely, gym has a really good selection of equipment for a hotel gym. Check in and out was seamless, staff were really lovely and super welcoming. Location is great for a quiet, laid back break. About €15 in a taxi to Mijas which is definitely worth a visit and the hotel were really helpful in ordering local taxis to the hotel for you Hotel restaurants and bars were all lovely. Picador is absolutely brilliant and well worth a reservation. Hotel bar at night is lovely, staff were really nice! My only criticism is poolside service, if you got up to go to the bar yourself you were told to sit down but then there weren’t enough day time staff to take orders and serve drinks. There were instances where we waited over an hour for water. You press a button on the table to call staff but you don’t know if it’s worked or if you are just being ignored as there aren’t enough staff. It’s a real shame as all the staff work really hard and it’s absolutely more of a management issue than the team themselves as they are all really nice people and really friendly. At other similar 5 star resorts in Andalusia they have way more staff to guest ratio meaning service feels more lux. Or just let guests get up and order themselves, no one minds!

Very enjoyable stay
This was our second visit to the hotel, general standards are really good, hotel in good condition, very clean and tidy, staff really good, breakfast is absolutely fantastic, lunch ok, dinner quality not so good so we ate at local restaurants in the evening. Both pools are very good, one for adults and other for families.

Disappointing Front Desk Experience Despite Globalist Status
I recently returned to La Zambra after having a wonderful stay last year, but unfortunately, this visit fell short—especially in terms of service from the front desk. As a Hyatt Globalist, I’ve grown accustomed to a high standard of care and recognition across Hyatt’s global properties. When I requested to add my partner to the reservation for a one-night stay, I was informed—rather bluntly—that she would be charged an additional €35 for breakfast and a separate deposit would be needed. While policies can vary, it was the tone and dismissive attitude from the front desk agent that left a negative impression. I was also told that “this is a different kind of Hyatt” because La Zambra is part of the Unbound Collection—implying that my elite status didn’t carry the same weight here. Isidro @ Bamboleo bar was great. He made the trip memorable by providing great customer service and conversation during my multiple visits to eat. The bar has what I believe the best food at the hotel and he was able to remember how I like my food prepared everyday. La Zambra is a beautiful hotel with great potential, but service—especially at the front desk—needs to better reflect the brand values that loyal Hyatt guests have come to expect.

Excellent luxury stay for a golfing holiday.
Front door staff were friendly, helpful and always pleased to see us. Helping with golf equipment to suggesting local restaurants for us to try when out. The turndown service in our room was also a nice touch. Never a queue at front desk and staff there were always able to help us with our questions and queries.
