My wife and I just got back (from the east coast and well worth the multiple flights to get there!) for our honeymoon. While not one of the more common places one tends to think about when looking for beach getaways in Mexico…this is a gem! Part of me hopes it stays a bit under the radar as it is such a magical place, but we will enthusiastically recommend this place to all. From the minute we stepped into the lobby what a beautiful escape from reality, then a nice refreshing drink to start creating the mood on the house! Our room (LPH1) was spectacular. This penthouse is closer to the lobby but high up to be able to see the ocean and the grounds at the same time to create a beautiful scene. Being a bit more away from the actual beach may not sound “perfect” but it created a nice combo of both getting the view you want plus the privacy one desires. Depending on the day of the week the beach and the restaurants can be full of life so some privacy of the room can be a nice change of pace. If you are looking for unobstructed rooms right on the beach they do have those as well! When you walk through the beautiful garden grounds and then it opens up to the view of the ocean and the golden white sand…it is breathtaking! Such a beautiful strip of beach. The ocean is warm, the floor is shallow for a good distance from the shoreline making ocean fun very easy and safe. Many things you could do for reasonable prices including paddle boards, kayaks, sailboats, jet skis….or just relax underneath your tranquil thatched hut/umbrella while you sip on one of the many great drink options with that view! The hotel restaurants were amazing. Even after multiple days we did not get bored with our options. Breakfast was great with many great items to fill you up for the morning. They have on the weekends special evening food themes which are well worth it, often times accompanied by local musicians playing during dinner…what a nice touch. New to the hotel is the Beach Club, which is a take on what I would describe as a Vegas pool experience (but the ocean) with a variety of cool sitting options, bottle and drink service, and more is a club music vibe…if this is your thing, it is a cool change of pace. If not, no worries as it doesn’t really interfere with the rest of the hotel. I would HIGHLY recommend grabbing a coffee at LOOT; and if you are looking for an unforgettable sunset dinner up high on the cliffs as you look down on the ocean bay go to Tentaciones! 100% recommend!
