I stayed at the Thompson for the Chicago Marathon, and it was a 10/10 experience. If you have World of Hyatt points, this is the place to use them for race weekend. The location is central to everything, so you’re close to the marathon events and the race-weekend energy all weekend long. It’s also surrounded by restaurants, which made carb loading easy the night before the race. Getting around downtown Chicago was simple from here. Highly recommend this Hyatt for any runner traveling to the Chicago Marathon, or anyone who wants a central base in the city.

Dear yuanthomas123, Thank you for your review and congratulations on your marathon participation! We appreciate you choosing Thompson Chicago for your lodging during this experience and I'm glad that you enjoyed your experience overall. We hope to have you back for next year's marathon, if not sooner than that for other purposes. Thanks again and have a great remainder of your week. Best,
This hotel is definitely in need of a refresh. The first room I was given had an AC that wasn’t working properly, and the couch had a large hole in it. I was moved to a second room, but unfortunately, there were issues there as well. Several of the switches weren’t operational, and the bathroom light flickered like a strobe before eventually staying on. The shower setup was also awkward. I’m personally not a fan of the open shower design, which made the overall bathroom experience less enjoyable. I’ve stayed at quite a few Thompson properties and have generally had great experiences, but unfortunately, this location just didn’t meet the standard I’ve come to expect from the brand. On the positive side, the location is very convenient, with great shopping and plenty of good restaurants nearby. Despite that, given the condition of the rooms and the maintenance issues I experienced, I wouldn’t choose to stay here again.

Dear 817MzTBSmith, Thank you for sharing your experience surrounding your recent visit. I can agree that we do have some areas that require a refresh and I'm happy to note that we're in the process of this consideration. However, the other items noted are certainly preventable and I'm sorry that this impacted your experience. Feedback such as yours allows us to be better and rectify problem areas. I hope that you had the chance to report the room issue (lighting) with our Guest Service Team so that we can address. if not, feel free to let me know the room number or name on reservation for appropriate follow-up. I'm confident that we have accommodations that can fit your need, as this seemed to be the gist of your issues during your stay. I'd relish the chance for a "2nd chance" to showcase that to you. If interested, I'd love to coordinate that with you personally. Thank you again for your feedback and I hope to hear back from you soon. Best,

Beautiful hotel with modern, intimate feel. The location is great. With all the landscaping in the area, it was so picturesque. Right in the middle of lots of upscale shopping and dining. The area is very affluent (lots of designer stores nearby) so it can feel a bit stuffy. The hotel is just a short walk to the Willis Tower, but much further from most of the shopping on Michigan Ave, the river (20min walk), and the bean. Staff was great. Very friendly, helpful and accommodating.

Dear VeronicaYem, Thank you for your review and comments. We appreciate you allowing us to introduce Thompson Chicago to you and we hope to see you again soon. I look forward to sharing this with our team. Best,
VERY sad to see this once great spot running to the ground , somehow nothing has been done to upkeep. Certainly not a 4 star hotel ! Other then the location not sure why would you stay here. Maybe the only ONE working elevator in the building of this size was the first give away. This is just a very tired looking place now ( not even the TV works ) housekeeping only comes by if you call , for a very " light " cleaning. For the price , try better.

Dear G F, Thank you for your feedback and review. I believe I was able to address your concerns directly pertaining to your stay as you provided a review to Hyatt about your visit. I am sorry that we failed in providing you a positive experience during your visit. We are aware of the challenges that the elevator outage contributed to and we're sorry for that impact. We offer full housekeeping services, therefore, I apologize that you didn't receive full service as expected. As offered in my previous email, I hope that we have a 2nd chance to make a lasting impression. You may reach out to me directly to arrange. Thank you again for providing your concerns and hopefully, allowing us to make up for the issues. Sincerely,
Where to begin? Made it Chitown for the Ye concert, so of course i had to hit up the Thompson. The staff here is just amazing. Always remembers your name and makes you very welcome. Tavon arranged our stay and Natalie greeted us warmly and made sure we were pleased and Mr V at the bell stand was just amazing as always!! Thanks so much to all of you!! George and Mellissa Russo

Was here for a work conference for a couple days. The view from my room on the 13th floor (yes, they have a 13th floor here) was phenomenal. The staff was extremely helpful and the food was fantastic. The breakfast was really really good specifically!

Run down and sub par. Towels were old and gray, no flat sheet on bed had to use the comforter directly, components of the breakfast were cold on 2 of the 3 days, inconsistent hot water in shower.
