Alexis at the front desk really set the tone for an absolutely perfect stay. My wife and I were married here a year ago and returned for our 1 year anniversary, and it was absolutely perfect.

Knowing that The Standard, High Line was part of your love story from the very beginning makes welcoming you back for such a special milestone even sweeter. We're absolutely delighted that Alexis set the tone for another perfect stay, and we'll be sure to share your lovely words with her! We hope to make The Standard part of your anniversary tradition! Cheers, Christian Morel Director of Guest Experience The Standard, High Line
NOISY hotel with techno music blaring until 4am from adjacent nightclubs/hotels. Even on the 11th floor. Finally, after 3 days, they moved us to a quieter side of the hotel -- but very disappointing. Other than that the hotel is nice, but I would never go back due to the noise.

Hi Andrew, Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We're glad to hear that you enjoyed the hotel itself, though I'm genuinely sorry that the nighttime noise overshadowed your stay. Our home in the heart of the Meatpacking District certainly comes with a lively soundtrack, and while that energy is part of The Standard's personality, we understand that a good night's sleep should never take a back seat. I'm pleased our team was eventually able to find you a quieter room, but I regret that it took three days to provide some relief. We do have rooms in quieter areas of the hotel, and I wish we had been able to make that adjustment sooner. Thank you for giving us a chance to be part of your New York visit. I understand your hesitation to return, but sincerely hope you'll reconsider and allow us the opportunity to provide a much more restful experience next time. Thank you for choosing the Standard, High Line for your New York stay, and we wish you Cheers, Christian Morel Director of Guest Experience The Standard, High Line
The view and location of this hotel is unbeatable. The staff was friendly, although really didn't have much interaction. If you plan to get a good night sleep do not stay at this hotel. We were placed on the 16th floor and told we had an "amazing room". We were not told we were right below the night club and would be kept awake until 4:30am each night with the bass from the music shaking the room. While the location and views were incredible, it is not worth it to stay here.

Hi Cailyn, Thank you for sharing your experience. While I'm delighted that our incredible views, location, and friendly team made a positive impression, I'm truly sorry that your nights were far from restful. Our lively rooftop nightlife is certainly part of The Standard's personality, but we recognize that a good night's sleep is just as important. I sincerely apologize that we didn't better communicate your room's proximity to our rooftop venues. We do offer accommodations on quieter floors that may have been better suited to your preferences. Thank you for choosing The Standard, High Line. I hope you'll give us another opportunity to deliver those spectacular views with a little less bass and a lot more rest! Cheers, Christian Morel Director of Guest Experience The Standard, High Line
For a hotel of this “standard,” and especially at this price point, I think it is reasonable to expect not to be standing on a completely water-soaked bathroom floor every single time you take a shower. The shower is not separated from the rest of the bathroom in any meaningful way, with no glass door, screen, or anything similar. To make matters worse, as seems so often to be the case in the US, you have to turn the water on at full blast, essentially “Niagara Falls” mode, before you eventually get warm water. This is somewhat different from Europe, where intelligent engineering apparently allows you to regulate the amount of water coming out of the shower independently of the temperature. The inevitable result is that after every shower, the entire bathroom floor is covered in water. At a hotel charging these prices, that is not just poor design, it is frankly disgusting.

Hi Martin, Thank you for sharing your honest feedback. I'm sorry to hear that our bathroom layout wasn't quite to your liking. Our rooms embrace a bold, contemporary aesthetic with open spaces and unconventional layouts. It's a design philosophy that's very much part of The Standard's personality, though we certainly understand that it may not suit everyone's preferences. After all, a little unconventional is part of our charm! We do offer rooms with different bathing configurations, including traditional shower and bathtub combinations, which may have been a better fit for your comfort and preferences. Thank you for choosing The Standard, High Line for your New York visit. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back and help you discover a room that feels just right for you. Cheers, Christian Morel Director of Guest Experience The Standard, High Line
The bathtub drain wasn't working properly. Then the air was erratic. You would need to change it to 87 degrees before any heat would come out. But then it would shift to blowing cold air and I woke up multiple times freezing. Dog was barking in the early morning in another room. Hairball and some sticky gunk found stuck to hand towel. Mysterious charge came up on my credit card 2 days after and each time they said they would email confirming the refund and before I could ask them if they could confirm my email, they'd hang up on me. No email received. No refund to card.

Hi Isobel, We're truly sorry to hear that your stay fell so far short of expectations. From the room issues to the frustrating follow-up regarding your charge, this is certainly not the experience we want for any of our guests. I'd appreciate the opportunity to make things right. Please reach out to me directly at christian.morel@standardhotels.com so I can personally assist with the charge and learn more about your experience to ensure the appropriate leadership teams are made aware. Thank you for bringing this to our attention, and I sincerely hope we have the chance to regain your trust. Cheers, Christian Morel Director of Guest Experience The Standard, High Line
The location and views are great. But the bed is like a futon on the floor. It’s a very tiny room in a very expensive hotel. IMHO, not worth the price. Also, the noise level from the top floor club is pretty loud. We were on the 9th floor and could hear it, but our friends on the upper floors couldn’t sleep. There’s reason they give you ear plugs in every room!

Hi kathyc1989, Thank you for sharing your experience. We’re glad the location and those unmistakable Standard views were highlights, though I’m sorry the rest of your stay didn’t quite measure up. Our rooms are intentionally designed with a low-profile bed and a compact, modern layout, but we completely understand that the style isn’t for everyone, particularly when it doesn’t feel aligned with the value you expected from your stay. I’m also sorry to hear that noise from our rooftop nightlife impacted your group. We know a great night in New York should still be followed by a great night’s sleep, and it’s disappointing to hear that wasn’t the case for your friends on the higher floors. Should you give us another try, please feel free to reach out to me before your stay. I’d be happy to help guide you toward a room and location that may be a much better fit. Cheers, Christian Morel Director, Guest Experience The Standard, High Line
Bathtub didn’t work. Lights didn’t work. No coffee maker. Not worth the insane amount of money. Don’t recommend the place. However is dog friendly my golden had a great time.

Hi Nikita, Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We’re genuinely sorry to hear that the bathtub and lighting in your room were not working as they should have been. That is certainly not the condition in which we want any guest to experience their room. While we don’t currently offer coffee makers in our guestrooms, we completely understand the convenience of having that first cup within easy reach. We do offer complimentary coffee in our lobby each morning from 5:00 to 7:00 AM, with additional options available at The Standard Grill afterward. I would particularly like to learn more about the issues you experienced with the bathtub and lighting so that I can share the details directly with our Director of Engineering for review. Please feel free to reach me at [christian.morel@standardhotels.com](mailto:christian.morel@standardhotels.com). Most importantly, we hope you were still able to enjoy your birthday stay with us, along with the chocolate mousse cake we sent to help celebrate. And we’re very happy to hear that your golden retriever had a great time. Our guests' furry friends are very much part of The Standard family too. Cheers, Christian Morel Director, Guest Experience The Standard, High Line
Wonderful hotel with superb service and very caring staff. The restaurant has a terrific menu and the food was delicious. Our view overlooking the Hudson River, Little Island, and south towards World Trade Center was spectacular! Walking the High Line was a great experience and beautiful walk during the day and especially during the evenings. Highly recommend staying at The Standard. You will not be disappointed.

Hi Mitch, Sounds like you found the perfect New York pairing! We’re delighted you enjoyed the care from our team, a delicious meal, and those Hudson River views stretching from Little Island all the way downtown. Having the High Line right outside our doors is pretty special, and we love that you experienced it both day and night. Thank you for the wonderful recommendation. We hope to welcome you back for another spectacular stay soon! Cheers, Christian Morel Director of Guest Experience The Standard, High Line
The overall customer experience was very poor. Upon check in there was a mistake in the room category. The reception staffed blamed it on us, and asked us to prove that we had reserved a different room. They laughed amongst themselves when we couldn't do so. Very rude, completely unprofessional. When we got to the room (which we had then paid extra to get), it was much smaller than other hotels in the area we had stayed, with equivalent tariffs (like the Gansevoort). Breakfast was on the other hand, very good - friendly staff and good selection and great coffee. overall just not great, though, with a very bad taste in our mouths from the check in experience

Hi Maurice, Thank you for sharing your experience. We take concerns like these very seriously, particularly when a guest feels they were treated disrespectfully by a member of our team. After receiving your feedback, we took the time to review the details of your reservation as well as footage of the interaction at our Front Desk. Our review showed that the room category originally reserved was different from the accommodation you were expecting. The team member assisting you worked quickly to understand the discrepancy and ensure you were ultimately accommodated in the room category you intended to book. Because the room in question is one of our premium categories, there may be occasions when our team asks to see a booking confirmation or other reservation details. This is never intended to place blame on a guest, but rather to make certain we understand exactly what was reserved and, most importantly, that we do not place someone into the wrong accommodation. We also specifically reviewed your concern regarding members of the team laughing during the interaction. We observed one instance of laughter from the neighboring agent, who was engaged in a separate, positive interaction with another guest at the time. While our review did not indicate that the laughter was directed toward you or your situation, we are genuinely sorry that the moment left you feeling embarrassed or uncomfortable. Regardless of intent, we never want a guest leaving our Front Desk feeling that way. We are glad to hear that breakfast was a brighter part of your stay and that our team there took good care of you. If there is additional context surrounding your check-in experience that we may have missed, I would sincerely welcome the opportunity to hear it. Please feel free to contact me directly at christian.morel@standardhotels.com. We appreciate you choosing Standard for your New York stay and wish you a lovely start to the fall season. Cheers, Christian Morel Director of Guest Experience The Standard, High Line
Very modern hotel with access to the High Line. Nice Bathtub. The King size bed was very comfortable and the black out curtains helped get a good nights sleep

Hi Ariel, Thank you for the love! A comfy king, a good soak, and blackout curtains after a day exploring the High Line sounds like a pretty solid NYC combination to us. So glad you enjoyed your stay, and we hope to welcome you back for another one soon. Cheers, Christian Morel Director of Guest Experience The Standard, High Line
