We strive to make our luxury hotel a green oasis in Washington, D.C. We host a Rooftop Honeybee Program and grow herbs on site, adding to the food sustainability mission of our restaurant, Blue Duck Tavern. We lessen waste and energy usage through practices like composting and using LED lighting. We even have our own software to track our environmental performance.
- Our culinary team has collaborated with Compost Crew to help divert food waste from landfills. We strive to divert upwards of 70,000 lbs of food waste in 2024.

- Systems and sensors are used in guestrooms and meeting rooms to efficiently manage lighting and temperature.

- Fresh herbs are grown from our roof top garden are incorporated in the wonderful culinary creations from our restaurant, Blue Duck Tavern and by our mixologists.
- All food scraps are diverted to a composting which is collected twice a week from our property.
- Mobile Entry is available through the World of Hyatt app to reduce the usage of plastic keycards. Our hotel is also implemented wooden key cards to move away from single use plastic.
