At Park Hyatt Siem Reap, luxury is shaped by place, culture, and meaningful discovery. We are proud to collaborate with World Monuments Fund to support long-term preservation training and deepen public understanding of responsible tourism at one of the world’s most treasured cultural landscapes.
Through this collaboration, Park Hyatt Siem Reap connects guests with Angkor’s preservation story in a more thoughtful way, offering rare insight into the care, expertise, and local commitment to safeguard Cambodia’s living heritage for future generations.

David Udell, Hyatt Executive Vice President, Group President of ASPAC and Bénédicte de Montlaur, President and CEO of World Monuments Fund, share the vision behind Park Hyatt Siem Reap’s collaboration with World Monuments Fund. Their reflections highlight the importance of preserving Angkor, supporting responsible tourism, and creating deeper connections between guests, heritage, and the communities who care for it.

Angkor is more than a destination to visit. It is a living cultural landscape shaped by history, spirituality, artistry, community, and care.
Through small-scale educational visits led by World Monuments Fund experts, Park Hyatt Siem Reap helps bring greater visibility to Angkor’s conservation efforts. These experiences offer a deeper understanding of the conservation challenges facing the temples, the craftsmanship involved in their care, and the Cambodian professionals working behind the scenes to protect them.

Park Hyatt Siem Reap’s collaboration with World Monuments Fund supports the Heritage Foreman Training initiative under the Suzanne Deal Booth Institute for Heritage Preservation.
Building on World Monuments Fund’s long-standing work at Angkor, the initiative helps equip Cambodian heritage professionals with the technical skills needed to care for the temple complexes over the long term. This reflects a shared belief that preservation must be locally led, rooted in practical training, and carried forward by the people closest to the heritage they protect.

World Monuments Fund is a leading independent organization devoted to safeguarding treasured places around the world. In Cambodia, World Monuments Fund has worked at Angkor for nearly four decades, supporting conservation, training, and local capacity building in collaboration with Cambodian partners.
Its work at Angkor has contributed to the preservation of major temple sites including Phnom Bakheng, Angkor Wat, Preah Khan, Ta Som, and the Churning of the Ocean of Milk Gallery.
Through this collaboration, Park Hyatt Siem Reap helps extend public understanding of World Monuments Fund’s preservation work while supporting the next generation of Cambodian conservation professionals.
Park Hyatt Siem Reap guests have the opportunity to join a special access, small-scale educational visit to Phnom Bakheng, one of Angkor’s most significant temple sites and a focus of World Monuments Fund’s conservation work.
Led by World Monuments Fund specialists, the 90-minute experience introduces guests to the complexity of temple preservation, from material care and structural challenges to the detailed craftsmanship required for long-term conservation.
