Kieler Woche is an annual sailing regatta that has been held in Kiel since the late 19th century. It is considered one of the world's largest sailing events. In recent decades, it has also developed into a popular festival, attracting fairgoers from all over the world. There are stalls selling drinks, sweets, and souvenirs, food trucks, various musical acts, and amusement rides as far as the eye can see.

Kiel is made up of fjords, the port, the cruise ships, ferries and the university, which give the small city its unmistakable charm. To see the fjords, just look out the window. Our proximity to the central train station means we are also close to the centre. To explore the surrounding beaches, simply use the ferry line, which is only a few minutes’ walk away. Where else can you experience such a discovery tour? The Kiellinie is also dotted with food trucks serving local treats such as fish rolls, burgers or ice cream. The locals love the flair by the water or spend their evenings in cosy bars and small cafés. With us, you’re right in the heart of it all!

The lake bar is a great location in Kiel directly by the water or on the Kiel fjord. Here you can enjoy the Baltic Sea with delicious drinks and good food, and listen to the sounds of the lake bar. And at the outdoor pool, you can swim, paddle, sunbathe, jump off the board and so on! So a trip to the sea bar is always worthwhile.

Mönkeberg beach is divided into a shallow area for children and families and a deep area for swimmers. The Laboe ferry jetty separates them. Mönkeberg is also located on the eastern bank and therefore has the sun for a little longer. There is also a small “beach bar” with snacks and drinks.
