VAT Policies
Value Added Tax (VAT) is not included in the room rate. A 19% VAT charge applies to stays by individuals who are Colombian nationals or residents. Non-resident tourists may qualify for a VAT exemption on the purchase of tourist packages, in accordance with current DIAN regulations. To be eligible for this benefit, the visitor must present a valid passport together with a valid immigration record. In cases of entry through Biomig, the movement record generated by that system will be accepted as supporting documentation.
A tourist package is understood as the combination of two or more services, such as lodging and meals, that have been contracted prior to the guest’s arrival and are used directly by the non-resident within Colombian territory.
This exemption applies exclusively to such tourism services and does not extend to other goods or additional expenditures incurred in the country.
Companion Registration Hotel Policy
To ensure the safety and quality of the experience for all guests, it is mandatory to register any additional guests during the Check-in process. If they are not present at the time of Check-in, their personal information must be provided in advance for prior registration.
The admission of new or unregistered additional guests during Check-in will not be permitted. In accordance with Colombian law, additional guests may only be registered if they present the required legal documents. Hyatt Regency Cartagena reserves the right to refuse the registration of additional guests who do not meet these requirements or are not properly registered at the time of Check-in.
Pet Policy
Daily rate per pet: $95,200 COP per night (VAT included) or its corresponding value in USD according to the exchange rate on that day.
Weight limits: 17 kilograms (37.4786 pounds). A maximum of two pets per room is allowed, whose combined weight cannot exceed 22 kilograms (48.5017 pounds).
