In the heart of Waikīkī
Towards the end of Waikīkī, the Hyatt Place is a great location if you want to be near the beach, Kapiolani Park & Diamond Head. However, it is BUSY. The free breakfast buffet is below average. Barely worth going to for the coffee.

Family vacation
The location is very convenient and close to everything, including the zoo, the beach, and restaurants. The hotel is very nice and clean, with lots of great perks. The complimentary breakfast was delicious, and the lobby area with Domino’s Pizza was an added bonus. We would absolutely stay here again! The hotel truly made our stay the best it could have been, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

Is the Hyatt Place Waikiki a true "Hyatt?"
For a Hyatt hotel (Hyatt Place Waikiki), this was a nice location, moderately appealing, but a bit disappointing. The bed was nice and comfortable, and the bathroom was sparkly clean. The room had only one art piece on the wall, which appeared moderate/unappealing to me (and I appreciate wall art). After surfing at beautiful Waikiki Beach til sunset, I needed a hot shower..But I was disappointed with the shower water barely warm enough to shower. (maybe my floor ran out?) Never have I been to a hotel or even a motel where this happened. I thought the next evening would be different, but that was not the case. --Seriously, no hot water! And did I mention that the shower pressure was not very strong? Additionally, the breakfasts were, to me, at a level of a Best Western: Eggs were ..okay, but not the kind you might expect. There was only one choice of meat,-- sausage links one day, Portuguese sausage the next. And, what really surprised me was that there was no cut fruit. -- (at a Waikiki Hyatt?!) No cut papaya, mango, pineapple, grapes.. Only unpeeled bananas, so you have to take a whole banana and eat it all, or waste some. This disappointed me. I did speak with the front desk as I left in the morning. They said it was not the highest tier of Hyatt... Really? There are tiers? IMO, Hyatt should be very high standards, period. Will I pay for a stay at that Hyatt Place Waikiki again? No. Will I try a different Hyatt someday? ..possibly.

Family travel
Pros: The staff are friendly and helpful. Beds were comfortable and room was clean (although sort of dark and dated). Cons: The check-in was annoying because I had done the online check-in, but then I STILL had to stand in line. So there is no convenience in online check-in. The bar should provide a few more options, especially when guests have to stand in a long line, are hungry and tired from traveling and don't want to leave the hotel to find quick eats.

Family Vacation
The rooms could use an upgrade bathrooms were not thoroughly cleaned and Elevators were a nightmare having to wait over 20min for one to arrive was ridiculous. Its a great location and if your just interested in somewhere decent to rest I would recommend but if your looking for a luxury experience this is not it

outdated, unresponsive
The room and overall hotel experience were disappointing. The hotel feels old and outdated, and the water pressure in the bathroom was very low, making showering inconvenient. I also specifically booked a balcony room, only to find that the balcony was blocked due to construction. This was particularly frustrating, as the balcony was one of the reasons I chose this room, and this limitation should have been communicated to guests in advance. Additionally, the hotel has two separate elevators serving different rooms, but the front desk did not explain this at check-in. We ended up taking the wrong elevator with all our luggage and had to go back down to ask for directions. When we asked the concierge whether there was another elevator for our room, they did not provide an answer or any assistance. Another guest was the one who finally gave us the information we needed. To make matters worse, the fire alarm went off at around 1 a.m. According to the concierge, someone had pulled the alarm, but the hotel did nothing to address the situation afterward. There was no apology, no follow-up, and no compensation for the disturbance. Overall, the hotel fell short in terms of maintenance, communication, and customer service. Between the outdated facilities, low water pressure, inaccessible balcony, lack of assistance, and middle-of-the-night fire alarm, this was a very disappointing stay. The hotel's failure to acknowledge these issues or make any effort to make things right made the experience even worse.

Never again.
Worst breakfast I’ve ever seen. Saw a dead roach in the hallway. Room not ready to check in so I was given a cheaper room at the same rate. I demanded them change it in the next day - it was ready at 7 AM which seemed a little suspicious. Dark curly hairs on the towels and in the shower. I didn’t even bother to complain because at this point, we complained so much the staff were rolling their eyes.

Great Location and Hospitality, but Room Freshness and Valet Service Need Improvement
Great Location and Friendly Staff, but Room and Valet Could Use Improvement Overall, our stay at Hyatt Place Waikiki Beach was pleasant, with a few areas that could use attention. The biggest concern was the room, which had a noticeable musty, locker-room-like odor. I suspect this may be due to Hawaii’s humidity or the room not being regularly occupied. A thorough deep cleaning and steam treatment would likely go a long way toward resolving the issue. Valet parking was another frustration. The service was noticeably slow, making it inconvenient when trying to come and go throughout the day. A more efficient process would greatly improve the guest experience. On the positive side, the staff was consistently friendly, welcoming, and helpful. The hotel’s proximity to Waikiki Beach is a major advantage, and the thoughtful provision of beach gear was a particularly nice touch that made our family’s stay more enjoyable. With some attention to room freshness and valet efficiency, this property could offer an excellent experience. Despite these shortcomings, we appreciated the hospitality and convenient location.

Family-Friendly Hotel with a Great Location and Room for Improvement
Overall, we had a good stay. The hotel is family-friendly, conveniently located near Waikiki, and in a relatively safe area. The staff were very friendly, and we appreciated the availability of beach chairs and towels for rent. My main reason for choosing this hotel was the breakfast buffet, which I had heard great things about. Unfortunately, breakfast was served in the lobby instead of the pool area for most of our stay. The food was not as good as expected, and there was very limited seating, which was especially inconvenient with young children. When breakfast returned to the pool area, the experience was much better. The other major issue was the elevators. With only two elevators per tower, wait times were very long, and the elevators were often crowded and stopped at nearly every floor. Aside from these two issues, we enjoyed our stay and appreciated the hotel's location and friendly staff. Improving the breakfast arrangements and elevator service would make this hotel a much better experience for families.

Do not stay here
Weed shop outside, homeless on steps. No parking available. Black mold everywhere and ongoing construction. Never cleaned our room. Biggest flop of a hotel stay I have ever had.

October at Hyatt place Waikiki

Meh
One of the worst hotel breakfasts I’ve ever had! They have signs posted everywhere claiming that breakfast in Waikiki costs around $60 per person and advertising that they are one of the few hotels offering it for free. Unfortunately, the quality of the breakfast was terrible. The additional fees were just as frustrating. We were forced to use valet parking, only to discover that they parked our vehicle on the street. On top of that, they charge a mandatory $40 fee for a small bag with two bottles of water and access to beach towels and chairs. We were only staying one night to be closer to the airport for an early flight the next morning, so we had absolutely no use for any of those amenities. It’s frustrating to be forced to pay for services you neither want nor need. Between the terrible breakfast, mandatory fees, and disappointing parking situation, I would not recommend this hotel.

The Value King of Waikiki
The value king of Waikiki is Hyatt Place! Although at the edge of Waikiki, every part of the beach is stunning. Although the considered the budget choice of the three Waikiki Hyatt brands, it provides the best balance of value and amenities. The free breakfast included every morning is actually quite excellent with fresh coffee, scrambled eggs, protein (bacon, sausage, or chicken), fruit, cereal, oatmeal, yogurt, and more. It also has selections for Japanese and Korean guests with kimchi, miso soup, and rice. Such an underrated amenity to simply wake up, grab a good warm meal, and start your adventure with zero fuss and wait! Construction was audible in my room but I was out for most of the days so it did not bother me at all and was done before I returned. Otherwise the room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. Staff did appear very busy but overall was friendly and attentive. Place is nothing super luxurious. It had the least desirable location, the least impressive rooms, and service was the most hectic of the Hyatts. But that is relative. For a pure value choice in Waikiki, it was simply the best overall stay. And in today's economic climate, that does count for a lot.

Hyatt Place Waikiki Beach Stress Relief!
We got bumped off our flight and World of Hyatt helped us get a room using points for free stay at Hyatt Place Beach. I was one (1) point short of a free room and the somehow managed to comp us one point. The best customer service ever.

Great Location and Comfortable Stay
Overall, we enjoyed our stay. The location was great, our room was clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was tasty. The main downside was the construction taking place at the hotel, which meant we weren’t able to use our balcony. It would have been helpful to know about this prior to our stay. Also, the outdoor breakfast area could use better protection from the birds. Otherwise, we had a good experience and enjoyed the convenient location.

First time at a Hyatt hotel and we will be back.
We needed a hotel for one night during a flight from US and Tokyo. I picked the Hyatt Hotel originally because of the free breakfast and location. What we found was an outstanding staff and very nice hotel. The front desk upgraded our room to a view of the beach and gave us late check out. Breakfast was great and one of the reasons I picked the hotel.

Enjoy stairs? This is the hotel for you
There were multiple times when we had to wait 10 plus minutes to get on the elevator it was frustrating especially since we had a stroller. I skipped the main housecleaning and opted instead for the trash removal and towel replacement. I communicated with the hotel through text when I needed the trash taken out or new towels, however, 3 times I didn’t get either of these and I had to go down to the lobby to put in the request for new towels. We stayed here back in 2022 and we remembered the elevators not being the greatest but I feel that they are especially worse now. They definitely need some maintenance to make them faster if possible. Will we stay here again in the future? Hard to say since we loved it on our first trip and would give it a 10/10 in 2022, for our 2026 stay we would honestly give it a 5/10.
