I won't be staying there again
The red head at the front desk (Ashley I think) was rude to my parents (in their 80s). The rooms were in need of some love (hair in shower, tears in couches, leaking windows with water pooling on floor and windowsill).
Bring Your Own Water
I've stayed many times at this location and have had nothing but excellent experiences. Unfortunately, this last time was not so great. The front desk receptionist was not friendly and in fact, condescending to me when I asked for a complimentary bottle of water. She refused, stating that I was not an "elite" member, though I AM a World of Hyatt member. She offered to sell me a bottle for $3.25. In the past, I've always been given complimentary bottles of water without even asking for them. Her attitude was nothing short of inhospitable and rude. I was there for only one night, which very well could be my last.
Home away from Home
The hotel was in great shape and very convenient to restaurants, work, and shops nearby. The staff was also very friendly and helpful. If you are looking for a home away from home, Tamika and team will provide that type of atmosphere when you arrive.
Clean and spacious
Wonderful stay, clean room, nice firm bed, room is spacious and quiet, ac worked great, hot breakfast. Easy to get to, decent neighborhood, check in was fast. Keurig in room, fridge stayed cold, and ice machine on each floor.
Visiting a friend at the VA Hospital
Location is ideal for visiting a friend at the VA hospital. Waco has grown since I was last there. Great location for what I needed. The hotel is kept clean staff is friendly and helpful.
Hyatt Place in Waco
Location was easy to access, hotel was clean, well kept and quiet. Breakfast could've been better. Other than that, a good place to stay.
Great Customer Service with a smile
We were greeted with a smile by the young man at the front desk. He was kind, friendly, and met our expectations 100%. He is a great addition to our team!
Nice stay
Hotel is located in a quiet area. No traffic noise. The breakfast was awesome. The beds are comfy & the rooms are comfortable.
Waco South Overnight
Nice quiet hotel, clean, friendly staff. Stayed overnight. Breakfast was ok but ate early so didn’t sample much. Pet friendly and they have a nice pet area.
looking forward to my next stay!
I had brought a fire stick along to watch the shows I record at home, I was having trouble getting it connected to the tv in my room? I went to the front desk to ask for assistance? I came upon a young man named Gabriel; I asked him if he knew anything about a firestick? He said a little, I told him I was having issues, he asked my room number? And said it will be done by the time you return from lunch; I was skeptical because he was busy at the front desk? upon my return from lunch the firestick was installed and working properly!! I stayed in the hotel for 3 days, and I really searched for something negative to say about my stay, but I could not find anything? Before I stayed, I read at least 100 reviews, some of them were really bad! I purposely put myself in the situations of the negative reviews, to make my own onions, and in most instances the negative reviews I read were debunked!
Not a good hotel.
The power went out in half of our room. They said they could not fix it until after our 4 night stay was over. Maintenance set up a power brick and extension cords so that we could have one lamp and the TV near the beds. They said that the manager would adjust the rate but did not. Manager would not return calls. This hotel serves alcohol but not food. Not too impressive.
Beautiful and relaxing.
This was my first time staying at a Hyatt hotel. It was a wonderful experience and I’ll definitely look for Hyatt hotel when traveling from now on. Everything was top notch: the beauty of the building, the cleanliness, the breakfast, the bedroom. Especially the mattress comfort.
Lovely, Comfy Place to Stay
Hyatt Place, Waco South is a wonderful location to stay at. Clean, safe, comfortable rooms and courteous, professional staff. Mostly a quiet, laid back vibe. A pleasant place to relax.
Shower head has extremely low pressure.
Shower head has extremely low pressure. Difficult to rinse my entire body since the pressure was so low and the shower sprayer offers no dismounting system.
Wonderful spot to recharge for the night.
Great clean, comfy and friendly hotel in a great location. The hotel staff was very friendly and the breakfast had a lot of options that satisfied my whole family.
Pretty good place to stay
Good place to stay. Nice location. Walls to the rooms are super thin. Waco is a nice city. Terrible highway traffic though
Clean place for the staff. The noisy couldn't get any rest.
The place was clean and staff was friendly. The breakfast was okay, better than usual buffets in the morning, but way too noisy at night, We couldn't get any rest. Conversations in the hallway, even the night manager had to come beat on the door and tell him to hold it down for noise complaints.
Unexpected gem
Had to stop for the night after an unexpected down n' back trip to Austin one day and stumbled into this gem. Great value and fantastic breakfast for the price! Highly recommend for a stop when breaking up a longer trip, etc.
Unhelpful and illegal
Hotel staff unhelpful Gave us wrong rooms. Tried to convince us we booked the wrong rooms. Then told us could not get accessible room we booked a month in advance because there was no hot water but never tried to let us know. I’m in a wheel chair. Didn’t even tell us at check in. Had to go back down and they tried to tell us it was our fault. Was told several times the manager would reach out and still haven’t. Had to reach out several times for them to fix the bill.
Family Stay
Love this hotel and the staff is always friendly and helpful. The area is safe and kids friendly. I always enjoy the indoor pool
