If you like to feel like your room is clean to be comfortable, stay elsewhere
Rooms are worn out after years of use and need a fresh renovation. There's carpet in front of the bathroom sinks and it seems it's all stained in every room I've been in over my past 5 times staying here. Over the past 3-4 years.
Ew.
This hotel is awful. Three story hotel with no elevators. Chicken tenders served at breakfast next to awful eggs. Skip.
Run!
I called the day of my arrival at 7:14PM to let the front desk know my flight would be coming in late that evening and to ensure we wouldn't need to check in beforehand. The youn male who answered the phone was by far the rudest person I've ever talked to. This person should not be allowed to interact with the public. He was very short with me and seemed annoyed that I even called. The call literally only took a minute of his time (to be exact). He said I would be fine to check in late and I thanked him and said I would see them soon. He just hung the phone up on me. It's disheartening to be kind and in return be treated so poorly! YOU ARR TAKING MY HARD EARNED MONEY and that is how you treat me. My son is in the military and just returning from a year long deployment. THIS PLACE is where I chose to stay and invite my son so we can all be together. Terrible mistake on my end because it only got worse. At check in, there was a lovely young woman that checked us in so I thought things would get better. She was so kind and personable. In my opinion she could get a better job than this Hyatt because it's beneath her exceptional service. Now to the room, IT WAS DISGUSTING! Barely even surface cleaned. The floor was BLACK from filth and stains (I have pictures), there was what appeared to be fears on the bathroom wall (didnt notice until the last day), there were huge stains under the cushion of the couch which appeared to be urine, there was food crumbs on the floor in one of the rooms from the guest(s) prior and the last straw for me was the two inch gap under the front door which let the cool air out and blazing heat in. This was by far the worst hotel experience I've ever had. It felt more like a Motel 6 thank a Hyatt. Not to mention all of the structural code violations I noticed outside. There is dry rot through the property, mostly around the stairs. The stairs all lean downward and I believe it's because the dry rot has compromised the integrity of the structure. This place is shameful to the Hyatt brand!
No elevators
NO Elevators. I booked a 2 bed suite to accommodate my dad in a separate room for privacy. The 3rd floor walk up was a bit much for us all with luggage. The space itself was clean and spacious. I just would have booked a handicapped version of this suite had I known about the lack of elevator. Got little info at check in due to long wait for one guest and only got a map to find our room after app check in. Breakfast was good. I would stay again for the price and accommodations, but I would know to request ground floor room and also ask for wifi access since it was only allowed through app and I could only use it.
Excellent
I usually don’t do these reviews but I have to say I had the best experience. The customer service was amazing. Breakfast was perfect. The pool was the perfect temperature and my kids loved it all! We would stay here again and again for sure.

Gave us more than enough room while visiting family nearby
Great old town location. Parking spaces wider than what we are used to. Excellent room with two full bedrooms and bathrooms. Full kitchen with dishware and dining area. Three televisions. Blackout shades to keep out sunlight and heat. Nice breakfast with different menu each morning.

If you like run down apartment complexes...
This place is an old, run down, apartment complex turned "hotel". I plead with you to stay at one of the many many other properties around for the same price.

Great Location and Staff
This hotel was an amazing experience. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel is centrally located and within walking distance to the mall, restaurants and other amenities. The partnerships for golf cart service was the icing on the cake. We will definitely return and will utilize these services when we return annually.

Stay somewhere else
It started at check-in. The guy at the front desk looked like he'd rather be anywhere else. I asked, as nicely as I could, whether we might be able to get a higher floor. He didn't even glance at the screen before telling me they were completely sold out. Something felt off, so I checked myself — and sure enough, there were rooms available. I'm a Hyatt Globalist member, and I've never felt like that status meant less somewhere than it did here. But the room is what really got me. The carpet was filthy — visibly, undeniably dirty. And then we noticed bugs. On the floor. In the closet. We didn't want to put our luggage down, let alone unpack. That's not a minor complaint or a one-off bad experience — that's a basic standard of cleanliness that just wasn't met. I genuinely wanted to like this place. I didn't.

Ok if all you want is a place to try and sleep and if you can eat poor quality breakfast.
Ok. So it’s a 3 star hotel at best. Reasonable location. Breakfast poor. The fresh fruit ran out if you weren’t there right away. Bed was horrific. Very saggy. Woke up sore. Terrible toiletries.

No Restaurant/Bar food as advertised
Your website and phone system are inaccurate. The H Bar does not serve food, despite advertising made-to-order omelets and dining options (false advertisement). One of the main reasons we chose this hotel. On top of this misinformation, the hotel failed to answer the phone 3 out of 4 times I called.
General Manager, General Manager at Hyatt House Scottsdale/Old Town, responded to this review
Dear Randy, We sincerely apologize for the frustration caused by the inaccuracies on our website and phone system. The inconvenience of not receiving the service expected at H Bar is understandable, and we're sorry for the disappointment this may have caused. Your feedback will help us address these issues with our team to ensure a better experience for future guests. In the spirit of hospitality, Ronald Byland General Manager

Dump
The hotel is a dump, showers are dirty and here was not working. Staff was bothered, we were checking in late. Place looks like I'm run down apartment building inside.

We loved our stay at the Hyatt House Scottsdale/OT
We had a great stay at the Hyatt House Scottsdale/Old Town. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The included hot breakfast was very good, they offered a lot of variety. When I was ready to relax I found peace and serenity poolside. The property is conveniently located, a very safe walk to everything Old Town has to offer.

Plenty of better options in Old Town
Our stay at Hyatt House Scottsdale/Old Town had several significant issues that impacted our experience. Prior to arrival, we were promised an upgraded multi-bedroom room to accommodate our family of five. We chose to keep our reservation specifically because of this offer. However, upon arrival, we were given a standard room that did not meet our needs, and the situation was initially handled in a dismissive manner with no acknowledgment of the prior commitment. Management later stepped in and provided compensation (comping the first night and discounting the remainder of the stay), which we appreciated. Unfortunately, the issues did not end there. For the final two nights of our stay, the air conditioning in our room was not functioning properly. While maintenance temporarily addressed it during the day, it failed again overnight, and there was no after-hours maintenance available. This resulted in two very uncomfortable nights. Additionally, the property itself appears to be in need of significant maintenance. The bathroom fan squeals loudly when the light is turned on, some wall outlets have broken covers, and areas outside the room have crumbling stucco with exposed metal mesh. For a rate of almost $500 per night, the overall condition of the hotel was not in line with expectations. Overall, while there was an effort to make things right financially, the stay was impacted by a lack of follow-through, inconsistent service, and subpar room conditions. We expected a much higher level of quality and reliability.

Dear steventowell, Thank you for sharing the detailed account of your recent stay. It's disappointing to hear that we did not meet your expectations, especially after the commitment made regarding your room upgrade. The issues with the air conditioning and the condition of the property, including the bathroom fan and wall outlets, are concerning. We take these matters seriously and are addressing them to ensure future guests have a better experience. We're pleased to have partially addressed your concerns, but we understand that this did not fully resolve the issues. If you have a moment, please reach out to us offline, as we would like the opportunity to discuss this further. In the spirit of hospitality, Ronald Byland General Manager
Hyatt house Scottsdale, AZ
Older Hyatt in a great location and excellent staff. No elevators and no staff to help with luggage. All entrances on exterior and stairs only to rooms
