Pet Policy

Hyatt House South Melbourne is a pet-friendly hotel, welcoming furry friends with open arms. Guests can enjoy the convenience of nearby walking areas, including the beautiful Royal Botanical Gardens and the picturesque Albert Park Lake, both perfect for strolls with pets. Albert Park Lake offers a serene environment for leisurely walks, picnics, and outdoor activities, making it an ideal spot for you and your pet to enjoy. For detailed information about the pet policy, please contact the hotel in advance to ensure a pleasant stay for both you and your pet.

For guests staying 1-6 nights, a $150 non-refundable pet fee will be administered. Guests staying 7-30 nights will be charged a $150 non-refundable pet fee plus an additional $100 cleaning fee, totaling $250. For guests staying 30+ nights, please contact the hotel for specific details. The fees will be inclusive of taxes. A maximum of 1 dog or cat per room are permitted. Only dogs weighing 30 kg and under are allowed; two dogs may be permitted in a guestroom provided the combined weight of both dogs does not exceed 30kg. The pet fee encompasses this, and pets exceeding these guidelines are at the hotel's discretion.

We just ask that you follow these few, simple rules to ensure safety for both guests and pets:


6 Nights or Fewer:

  • $150 non-refundable pet fee will be administered.
  • All pets must be housebroken.
  • A maximum of 1 dog/cat per room are permitted.

  • All service animals are welcome


7-30 Nights:

Guests Staying 30+ Nights:

Additional guidelines include:

  • Pets must be on a leash or in a carrier whenever in public areas, including the lobby and elevators.
  • Owners are responsible for their pets at all times.
  • Pets are not permitted in food and beverage outlets or leisure facilities.
  • A bond may be taken to cover any damages.
