Dining

Our name originates from the Dutchman Fredrik Reiss who ran a semi-legal coffeehouse in the 1750s. Since then, the building has been used as storehouse, drinking den and an epicentre for some of the most prominent poets and writers in European history.

Today, timeless local delicacies are served in style, with views over the water towards Skeppsholmen. Classic Swedish dishes with our modern touch deliver mouth-watering meals to locals and guests from across the world.

Dine with us as many have done so over the past hundreds of years.

Restaurant Reiss

Throughout time, many of the most famous and celebrated chefs in Sweden have passed through the Hôtel Reisen kitchen, creating their signature dishes that, today, are called classic Swedish cuisine. Today we have modernized and crafted these dishes into a contemporary dining experience. Sit on the waterfront with spectacular views or enjoy cocktails in the hotel’s unique interior surrounded by history.

Christmas dinner at Reiss

From November 24th to December 22nd, we will serve our classic seafood Christmas table in the restaurant for dinner on Tuesdays and for both lunch and dinner from Wednesday to Saturday.

Bar Reiss

Overlooking the scenic waterfront, you’ll find Bar Reiss. It’s a friendly hangout with a mixed crowd, a natural rendezvous you’ll want to visit whether you live within walking distance or stay in town for the weekend.

The airy ambience, comfy chairs and a relaxed, homey atmosphere create the perfect backdrop, whether you’re meeting an old friend for coffee or planning for a night out.

Our friendly bartenders will mix up your favourite or recommend from a selection of coffee and cocktails — complemented by thoughtful nods to the hotel’s heritage. You should try the Espresso Martini à la Fredrik Reiss or reserve a seat for the Afternoon Coffee when visiting.

In essence: Coffee, cocktails and ‘chitchattery’. Stay for a cuppa — or till night falls.
