The hotel is beautiful. The location is a vibe for nightlife and good food. The staff was very friendly and offered complimentary wine.

Great stay!

Just common sense lacking from the staff.
Had a reservation booked for 2 days through Amex, staff seemed great approved a late checkout till 3pm that day I was too check out. Before 3pm I renewed the booking to extend 1 more day to 3 days and your manager over the phone said the $100 credit wouldn't be provided, but the late check out would. Which made perfect sense, why give me another credit, but the considerations of the referral of AMEX should of course carry. However, when I checked downstairs in person at the front desk said maybe they could, but she'd be there the morning to handle it so just check with her.

This was at 4pm the day of the 16th, so I call the 17th and speak with the same front desk girl and she said they have late checkout available, I said great, could I get it till 3pm again as I had the prior day. She said yes, but its $100.
I explained to her I came in via AMEX and I had a 3pm the prior day without charge, she said Amex on the 1 day added to the reservation came in as if it is from "expedia" despite being through Amex Travel. Assuming they just do that if it's not 2 days or more I explained that to her. She basically told me to pound sand and get out the hotel.
That just defy's logic and common sense, my reward for sticking with your hotel and brand is to be miss used and abused, vs. accommodated. Sounds like a systemic common sense issue.

DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS LOCATION. Unfortunate as the location is great. Everything else- NOT GOOD. Pick another Location. As far as the Globalist program- also a complete scam.

Don't waste your money

No ice machine available.  Mattress was very hard and uncomfortable.  Shower caulking was moldy. Hotel amenities are lacking.

You can do better...

I used points for the best room possible at the hotel.  It looked great on the website.  Instead I received a "comparable room" on the 3rd floor  -- even though my profile requests high floor and far away from elevator clearly that didn't matter.  I asked for a higher floor but i received the usual "the hotel is full" which I didn't believe, but what was I going to do.

In short, the 3rd floor room (#301) is right next to the late night dance club and this is the room the hotel clerk gives to suckers....Forget about sleeping! And, there's a spotlight from the building next door that shines into the room all night. Blackout curtains are the only option.  Housekeeping knows this is a really noisy room so why were there only 1 pair of earplugs in the room?  Seriously!  Doesn't matter...the earplugs wouldn't have helped.  

It also would have been nice if the front desk clerk advised us this room is going to be noisy so "buckle up!"

I could stand on my narrow balcony and literally look straight down at the line of people waiting to walk into the dance club.

Separately, the wood floor was scratched up -- needs to be fixed -- and the turntable/speaker system sounds terrible...not to mention the selection of records is really poor.  Nice idea, but cheaply executed -- either do it the right way or remove the illusion.  

At the foot of the bed is a TV on a credenza that's so close i hope we didn't have to walk to the bathroom in the middle of the night.   Room 301 just sucks!   The room was nice on its own, but the whole experience was terrible...My wife and  I left in the middle of the night...we couldn't take it and it wasn't worth it to even ask for a refund.   We just wanted to get the hell out of there.

Nice Looking Hotel with Loud Dance Club Next Door

I picked the Hyatt Dream Hollywood because I love Hyatt properties and the location is genuinely fantastic. The lobby is gorgeous, the vibe is fun, and the rooftop is clearly meant to be the highlight. On paper, it checks every box.

But during my two-night stay, things didn’t play out quite how I expected. The rooftop was closed early both days for private events, so there was no chance to use the pool or grab a drink or a quick bite up there. There is a lobby bar, but it was never open the entire time we were there — not even in the morning for breakfast or an espresso — which made the rooftop closure even more frustrating. It left the hotel without any real food or beverage options.

Our room also had some issues. It was small and definitely worn. We actually had to switch rooms because the thin curtain that’s supposed to cover the glass between the shower and the bedroom was ripped and hanging down, offering basically no privacy. The second room was better, but still felt a bit tired for the price point.

If you want a great location and a fun atmosphere, this place absolutely has that. I’d recommend checking ahead about rooftop access and lobby bar hours so you’re not caught off guard. With more consistent amenities and some attention to the rooms, it could be a great stay.

Loved the vibe, but not the execution

Hotel is in a great location, lovy is great for pics, and customer service is excellent. Smooth check-in process and friendly staff. The rooms were very smaller than expected and there was no actual mini-fridge to be found. The room bed space and balcany space themselves were extremely tight.

Good lil hideaway

Overall the hotel was nice, clean, and the bed was comfortable but the club right outside of my room was so loud I wasn’t able to sleep and they didn’t stop until 3am. In the room was cheap ear plugs that didn’t help and I even tried using my noise canceling headphones and that didn’t even help tune out the noise. This caused me exhaustion and I even missed my city tour due to sleeping through my alarm. I would definitely not stay in this hotel again.

Club next door to loud

This place has lost its charm since Hyatt took over - it’s flat, boring and no one goes above and beyond like they did a few years ago - I’ll likely stay at Hollywood Grand or Volume across the road.

Not what it used to be

Balcony overlooked by next door fire escape. stank of fish from restaurant next door. No water in room. No water available in hotel. staff didn't care.
$47 facility charge on bill, supposedly for the robot and the complimentary coffee which clearly wasn't complimentary because it cost $47!
