This is NOT the Hyatt standard I am familiar with! I lived in Las Vegas from 1981 to 2022 and actually visited the property within 2 weeks of the opening to the public. I am very disappointed that there does not to appear to be any concern with upkeep. My room had a sewer smell in the lavatory sinks in the first room and one sink didn't drain properly in the second room. Shameful.
The hotel staff was not friendly or helpful. The Breakfast Buffet served cold scrambled eggs everyday. We spoke with the staff, but they offered no help. I have had better service from Hyatt Place Hotels.
The newly renovated rooms are very nice. Nice selection of slot machines. Beautiful pools and casino. Nice selection of restaurants.
Once I signed up for Rio rewards and I started getting offers for 4 free nights, this became my home in Las Vegas. This was my 3rd trip to Rio this year. It's in a good location, good dining options, free parking, awesome pool and huge rooms make this the perfect Las Vegas resort stay.
The quality and variety of food and beverage is amazing. High Stakes the best steak house in Vegas! Every staff member I came in contact with were extremely helpful and friendly. From Mary in Housekeeping to Matthew in Revolution. Thank you! Monday Night football in Masquerade tower is a great idea!
We arrived at the hotel after midnight waited in line for an hour and a half to check in. When we got up to our room, there was peeling wallpaper, dirty mildew bathtub broken showerhead that was spraying water out the top And no hot water! There was also a wet stain on the carpet that we have no idea where it was coming from and if all that wasn’t bad enough…two queen size beds each with just two pillows. Which doesn’t seem like that big a deal after everything else that I just listed, but it was annoying. Tried to call down to the front desk, could not get ahold of anyone even the Bell desk tried to call them and could not get ahold of anyone, since it was now 2:30 in the morning we decided to go to sleep and deal with it in the morning. First thing upon waking we went to the front desk and waiting in line for 30 minutes, then I canceled the rest of my stay and we left. The gentleman who helped us to check out was very understanding and very apologetic and made sure he gave me back what money he could since it was booked through a third-party site. I’m still waiting to get the rest of my money back. He did tell us that that side of the hotel hasn’t been renovated in over 25 years but even an old hotel can be a clean hotel.
Front desk agent Theresa wasn’t very pleasant nor accommodating. She introduced herself as “our computer system is down”. She said there’s absolutely NOTHING she could do for me however when I mentioned that I was a VIP Globalist Member, her mood, attitude, demeanor instantly changed. Even before expressing my concerns I had already made up my mind that I was checking out immediately! I felt continuously pawned off to the next staff member. Paying for amenities? Why? Not all are available or operable!
Solid Hotel with great value and easy to get in and out of. Short walk to to Strip. Food courts were clean and busy and the other sit down Restaurants were very good. Enjoyed my stay at the Rio.
AC was broke in room, shower broke in middle of taking shower before going out. Cabana reservation was canceled with no advance notice. You have to use AI functions to request anything, many delays or things never happen. You cant talk to a live manager at all unless you stand in long check in line, They have no kiosis for check in.
Horrible customer service during the check in process. And then key quit working for some reason that was not told to me and had to wait in check in line again that was a hour long to get my key fixed. Customer service was even more rude to me second time. More people in line to check in that in the entire Casino I think. Place is just falling apart and won’t be open my longer I’m sure. Good riddance.
