Koyasan, a sacred site in Shingon Esoteric Buddhism,was founded by the great monk Kobo Daishi at the beginning of the Heian period.
Koyasan is an outstanding trove of history, culture, and natural beauty.
Its vast grounds are filled with a variety of places of interest.

Koyasan Kongobuji Temple

Tōdaiji Temple and its principal image of the Great Buddha, widely known as Daibutu, represent Nara in all its aspects. Daibutsu is housed in an imposing wooden structure that is the largest in the world.

As the imperial ordinance for the construction in 743, the Great Buddha was cast under full state sponsorship and people's cooperation. The consecrating ceremony was held in 752. It took almost 40 years to complete the whole temple complex, including pagodas, halls, and gradually extended areas. Even after the capital moved to Kyoto, the temple enjoyed its prosperity under the protection of successive emperors. However, the two big wars attacked the temple in 1180 and 1567, severely damaging or burning most of it.

However, with tremendous efforts, the temple was restored each time. Many of the current buildings were reconstructed after that. However, a large number of noted Buddhist statues and buildings from the Nara era remain. Tōdaiji Temple is a Unesco World Heritage site.

A specialized shopping street where you can find everything needed for running a restaurant, including professional-grade kitchen equipment, cooking utensils, store supplies, signs, shop curtains, and uniforms. About 70 shops line the 150-meter-long arcade, earning strong trust from chefs who are opening or running restaurants.
Of course, shopping for home use is also welcome. You can choose a professional chef’s knife or simply pick up a single everyday spoon. Just browsing through the many stores is an enjoyable experience.

Opened in 1923 and modeled on the historic Teatro alla Scala in Milan, Osaka Shochikuza Theatre showcases traditional kabuki, as well as opera, plays, musicals, concerts, and comedy shows.

Located in the heart of Osaka City, Namba Yasaka Shrine is known for its impressive lion-shaped stage—a massive structure measuring 12 meters high, 11 meters wide, and 10 meters deep. Despite being in a central area, the shrine offers a peaceful and quiet atmosphere.
In addition to the iconic lion head, the spacious grounds feature many other scenic spots perfect for photos.
