Had a lovely stay at this boutique hotel - location could not be better, right off the quiet park but walking distance to many many many cafes, restaurants, cocktail bars, and shopping. Room was pleasant and staff helpful. Lounge Fernando was a great jumping off point each morning and evening. Will be back, if ever in CDMX again.
Will definitely be returning; loved this charming hotel! The beds were comfortable, and I loved my daily green juice + fruit in the mornings. The staff was super friendly and always helpful :)
loved the space, would totally come again. helpful staff, really good housekeeping.! also, seeing i communicate in english (and other 5 languages spoken only in East Africa but not present in the Americans), liked that folks made effort to assist me in when asking questions in the hotel.
Adorable and comfortable hotel in the trendy La Condesa district! My friends and I came to Mexico City for the first time for a concert and we didn't know where to stay or go. So naturally we looked up trendy neighborhoods for millennials, specifically areas that are LGBTQ friendly. La Condesa came up in several searches as being safe, walkable, LGBTQ friendly, and great for curious travelers. We absolutely LOVED it. The location was fantastic and we felt like we were walkable to everything we needed. We then started looking up hotels on Instagram to see if we could find a hotel that had the aesthetic we wanted. Colorful, unique, character. Hotel San Fernando checked all the boxes! It was adorable! Old world charm, colorful marble floors, grand staircase, and main level bar. The staff were super friendly and attentive, and the roof was HUGE! It literally felt like an apartment complete with a kitchenette, dining table, entryway, large bathroom, big bedroom, and a private terrace! We would definitely stay here again next time we are in town.
Wonderful hotel! Feels very homely, and well maintained. The staff was very helpful and the rooms were very comfortable.
Bunkhouse Mexico City exceeded my expectations, and honestly it was the people that made the stay memorable. The location is fantastic — easy access to everything I wanted to see and do — and the design throughout the property has a warmth and character that a lot of hotels try for and miss. The service is what really stood out, though. I ran into an issue trying to stream from my phone to the in-room TV (could easily have been a quirk with my phone, not the hotel’s equipment). Luis at the front desk came up to my room himself to help troubleshoot, and stuck with it even after the obvious fixes didn’t work. When we still couldn’t get it sorted, the manager, Adrian, followed up personally and offered a complimentary amenity for the inconvenience — a small gesture, but one that said a lot about how this team treats guests. Between the location, the design, and staff who clearly care about getting the details right, I’d happily stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting Mexico City.
Excellent location in the heart of Condesa. We loved the central patio and lounge space for our breakfast and afternoon margarita. Rooms were cute and cozy and service we thought was really impressive. Looking forward to returning!
The hotel is absolutely beautiful and centrally located. The vibe was warm and inviting, and I really appreciated the continental breakfast and the happy hour drink in the lounge. Luis at the front desk was especially welcoming - thank you for a wonderful experience!
great location, very friendly staff. beware rooms with balconies are on the 5th floor of a walk up, no hotel elevators. the sound travels through the hall and stairwell. towels were dirty daily
The location was ideal, everything else was pretty disappointing. We did not know that the air conditioning was not working until we got to the hotel. It was very hot and uncomfortable to sleep. At first we were given one very tiny fan, and when we asked for another, we were told there were no more. We asked again the next day and finally got a large fan, which we should have apparently had the whole time. That helped, but it was still hot. Our room also faced the street so when we kept the windows open it was very loud at night. There was also many times we could smell cigarette smoke from people outside smoking directly beneath our window. The walls are thin so we could hear noise from the lobby and the restaurant next door as well. When the restaurant next door closes at 12am, it sounded like the restaurant employees were throwing the outside furniture back inside the restaurant, startling us. The furniture was all made from plywood, it felt very cheap. The layout was not functional - there wasn’t really anywhere to put our belongings away so they were all over the daybed and floor. The shower was so tiny and hard to shower in, and the floor of the shower was moldy.
