Shenyuan Garden is a renowned historical garden in the heart of Shaoxing City. It is a national 5A-level scenic area and one of the few well-preserved Song Dynasty-style gardens in China. The garden is famous for its connection to the poet Lu You and his tragic love story with Tang Wan, which inspired the famous poem “Phoenix Hairpin” inscribed on the garden wall.

Yangming Hometown is a significant cultural and historical site in Shaoxing, Zhejiang Province. It commemorates Wang Yangming (1472-1529), a renowned philosopher, military strategist and calligrapher of the Ming Dynasty. Wang Yangming is best known for his “School of Mind” philosophy, which emphasizes the unity of knowledge and action and has had a profound influence on Chinese and East Asian thought.
