Overall, this is a great option in Midtown, just a block from Bryant Park and the subway. It's also a short walk to Broadway, shopping on Fifth Avenue, Rockefeller Center and Herald Square.
Check in was efficient. Staff at the front desk were friendly, a pattern that repeated itself in the bar and restaurant. The room was nicely appointed, and a size perhaps slightly larger than the average Manhattan hotel room. 
My main ding: go on the earlier side for breakfast (which was included in my rate), if you're eating in the restaurant on the weekends. We had to wait more than 20 minutes to be seated, only to wait more than that to have our orders taken and served, only to have the wrong order come out. When our meals did emerge, half of the items on the plate were cold.
A manager said he would "talk to the chef." No indication of how that conversation went.

Not value for money for sure, The room was dirty! I posted the photos about the same on google as well. The ceiling and bedsheets were dirty and torn!

Horrible

The Grayson Hotel is an upscale hotel which is in the heart of NYC but far away from the hustle and bustle. We could walk everywhere which was great. 
The hotel is very nicely decorated and we were upgraded at check-in which was much appreciated. Our rooms were clean and had a lovely modern decor. Although, the rooms did not have a refrigerator or coffee maker - these were provided for us when we asked in advance of our stay. The AC was very good and individually controlled also. The breakfast could could have been better with more choices although the eggs and bacon were nice.
The only critique is that you could hear your neighbors as the rooms were not well soundproofed.  
Overall though the hotel is in a fantastic location and good value for money.

Upscale central hotel in a fantastic location

Lovely  hotel in midtown Manhattan, within walking distance to the theater district. Perfect for a special night out or business trip.  The room was small, but well appointed and although I was placed across the hall from the elevator, I didn’t hear a thing. Great blackout shades!

Perfect for my needs

The hotel is in a great location. Clean. And the bar on the rooftop is great. My only complain is that they have three elevators. They shut one down for a wedding. Left us waiting forever for one. Had to catch one on the way up and ride it down. Then a worker brings in like 5 trash bags. It’s not his fault he has a job to do. It’s the hotel establishments fault. Wouldn’t stay here again. Housekeeping great, front staff great.

Great location. Great rooftop bar. Great food. Great staff. Completely charming. I recommend this hotel. We wish we could have stayed longer. Dont forget to check out the bar upstairs for the best views!

Book it!

We had a lovely experience at the Grayson Hotel celebrating our wedding anniversary. We arrived on New Years Day, and were not surprised to find the hotel very. busy with parties checking out and checking in. Check-in time is advertised as 3pm, but our room wasn't ready until closer to 4pm. We did not really mind this and expected it, given the busy holiday, and besides, we were just a few minutes walk from the Bryant Park winter market! We enjoyed ourselves over there for a couple hours, then returned to the hotel when our room was ready. We were pleasantly surprised at the closet space and size of the bathroom, because we knew to expect small spaces in NYC hotels. We had plenty of room to hang out clothes and winter coats. 

The location is great -- close enough to Bryant Park and Times Square/Broadway for walking, and easy access to multiple subway stations including Bryant Park and Grand Central. But we appreciated that it was far enough away from Times Square and Bryant Park to spare us most (but not all) of the holiday tourist crowds. 

Only things that were downsides:
1. The elevators are so slow. Seriously, budget an additional 5 minutes minutes to your commute times if you're trying to get out to a dinner reservation or anything like that. We probably could have taken the stairs down (we were "only" on the 9th floor), but we were wearing several layers of clothing to brave the NYC winter temperatures, and we didn't want to get sweaty and overheated on the stair climb.

2. On the second night, we discovered housekeeping had only left behind one bath towel. Not the end of the world (and we didn't care enough to call down to the front desk for more), but it was disappointing, especially because housekeeping didn't get to our room until quite late in the day (it had to have been after 6pm).

Awesome location, stylish design

The Grayson is a conveniently located, well appointed hotel close to NYC attractions. We stay in NYC often and found the overall experience very pleasant. The beds were extremely comfortable, the rooms were well sized, and breakfast (we had the made to order) was delicious. Our room type was not available so we were given a $50 food credit. We were supposed to also receive $25 per room as a Hotels.com VIP but I didn't follow up on that. All in all a giid experience!

Great option close to the theater district

Wonderful stay at Grayson! 
Excellent location, very friendly, helpful staff, close to a subway station and a short walk to several points of interest. Design and decor is definitely more contemporary and while small (as described), our room was very quiet (26th floor) and the bed was extremely comfortable! It was very clean and housekeeping tidied up each day. I was very pleased with our stay and happy that we chose Grayson after considering at least a dozen other hotels. NYC during the Christmas season is not inexpensive but a great experience.

Excellent location and breakfast! Would definitely stay again - loved the rooftop bar and views however service was subpar and so slow (food is made “downstairs “ so don’t bother to order food o/t $15 chips and salsa! Still a great view!) Breakfast was amazing- again service was super slow sitting guests, bringing food and bev but okay… we are on vacation right?!
